After her husband was fired, she posted on social media that the school had less than a half million in NIL money while the combined amount for all of their opponents was more than 46 million.
Like it or not, this really shows just how unbalanced the monetary playing field is today. That said, they really should give up the dream of playing with the big boys.

Unfortunate, but not an excuse here, there or anywhere. Winning comes first, then fans and money will follow.

Figure the getting fired or the having his wife fight his battles publically was worse for this guy?

I’m guessing UMass football is way behind the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots and college hockey in significance to Massachusettsers.

How would she know what opponents have in NIL? It's not like coaches are sharing their numbers with each other.

UMass did give up. It is joining the MAC. That being said, The NIL disparity is skewed because UMass had games against Mizzu, Miss St, Liberty and UGa. That's 3 SEC teams and the BYU of the East. Otherwise UMass has a pretty typical MAC type schedule. Its only wins are over FCS CCst and Wagner. They are actually 0-5 against future MAC opponents.

I hope she doesn’t need COBRA
Don Brown is 69 years old. They are probably on Medicare.

Maybe Don was a terrible coach.
They only beat Central Connecticut 35-31=== Is Central Connecticut's NIL that large?
Doubt all the MAC teams they lost to have significant NIL

Last year, they barely beat Merrimack and Army, and again lost to all the MAC teams they played.

Look in the mirror Mrs. Brown.

Perhaps the point is.. why bother firing the guy if the school has never cared about football?

Remember when Rutgers was known as a coaches graveyard so we couldn't really hire anyone who stood a chance?

That's where UMASS is. Who can they get to take that job? They have to get really lucky.

Hmm.. maybe there's a tech or bitcoin billionaire out there who always fancied himself a football coach. "hire" him... he'll fund the NIL himself... whoever he is.
