DArnold is the best QB in college football.
He might eventually win a Heisman, but right now he's not better than Watson at Clemson.
Franklin is a GREAT recruiter. BUT He lost the game with the conservative prevent offense before the INT.

I think that kid could start on 1/2 the NFL teams, next year. He's some kind of a QB.

Have to say I have a lot of respect for PSU players - real footballers. Nice how they surrounded injured USC player too. Easy to loathe the school/cult but not the players
I know this will upset you but Franklin wasn't responsible for the play calling at the end.
Classic game. Surprised PSU didn't play it safe after the near-INT on 2nd down. Onions to leave it up to a 46 yard FG too.
Went 10 for 10 on his last 5 passes and threw for almost 500 yards and 5 TDS. As a freshman.

I caught the end but from this thread sounded like a great game and you lost your cool a couple of times.
That tends to happen when you're posting on a site that has a lot of posters that doesn't like your team very much .

He's the head coach. If he doesn't have a say in the final 2 minutes with a 1 possession lead, someone should get him some women's underwear.
He has a good arm and good pocket presence, but Watson has that, too. But Watson is more explosive when he takes off and runs. Darnold can run, too, but not like Watson. It's splitting hairs, but I still give the nod to Watson.

Whether you believe he was responsible or not, Franklin is the one who will get the kudos if successful and the insults if it doesn't end well.
Just say it was a hellofa game but the Nits just fell short at the end.
As for the play calling: I think whoever was calling the Nit's offense wanted to run down the clock a little bit then get in FG range with very little time left so USC wouldn't have but a few seconds if even got the ball back.
Not playing for a tie and OT , when there's a chance to win, was a move I can respect and agree with.
So ,for me, Franklin/Moorhead made the right calls, that didn't work out.
If PSU got into FG range and made it to win game, Franklin would be called a genius

Have to disagree with you on this one. Darnold is a better passer than Watson by a fair amount. And he's 19! Kid's amazing. As always, I'm in complete agreement with Cali on this one.

He will still end the season with a T10 team. Great season for his kids and despite tonight being a tough loss, that's the way it goes sometimes.
Great game by both teams. Franklin blew it. I can see maybe trying to get that FG.. but after a near INT.. why would you throw long AGAIN? I guess the thought is that a long into will be like a punt and with 30 secs left you can stop them. But tat's crazy too.. this is college.. clock stops on 1st downs and that QB was HOT.

He doesn't have a good arm. He has an amazing arm. Strong and accurate. Can run and has unreal pocket sense. Barring injury he goes higher in the draft than Watson does. Watson can run better, but his arm is nothing like Darnolds. Kid was dropping darted dimes the whole game.
