The University of Florida now plays Tom Petty’s Won’t Back Down between the third and fourth quarters. Gainesville is his town. It is very cool to hear tens of thousands sing along. They also have named a park after him.

Perhaps when Ash comes out on the field "Don't Come Around Here No More" will be the song of choice from the stands.

Despite it all, I can't wait for football season. Even though I have to work -- outdoors -- on opening night, I'm psyched as hell. I can't help it. By halftime that could have been totally extinguished, but right now I want to see this team play.

For me its bittersweet. As much as I love college football I hate that it mark the end of summer. I love summer.
