held them under 100 rushing yards and only 76 more total yards - not bad. I'm also surprised to see Rutgers had 21 1st downs vs 17.

That would be impressive but those stats are unfortunately skewed.
The University of Washington QB threw for nearly 300 yards in the 1st Half compared to RU having under 100 yards of total offense . In the 2nd Half Petersen thankfully played his 2nd Team Offense and Defense for the majority of the Half ( and stayed with a Run game).
