Do we stay on the upward trajectory and finish above .500 and top 100 in Sagarin? Or do we stay where we are now?

I think similar to this year but maybe close out a few more games. Don't see winning more than 5 big games.

We still need to upgrade the roster so hopefully we cab bring in a juco or grad transfer.

prediction - we will be like Ohio St was this year
7 - 11 in conference and around a game or so above .500 for the year. If we schedule easy OOC we may be 3-4 games above .500

7-11 in conference this year would gotten us to 19-14 overall and hoping for an NIT bid.

Sagarin or kenpom ranking to me is they way I'd like to evaluate improvement. Moving up 50 spots probably means a few above .500, but maybe not depending on strength of schedule.

It is possible the B1G has an incredible year next year.

I think the Big 10 will be much stronger next year. A lot of teams played a ton of freshmen and young players. There are 4 or 5 schools who really don't loose anything.

Could have a better team yet have a worse record, because in Year 2, the non-conference schedule will need to be upgraded... At least it should be. A similar schedule won't help in developing a better team.

Couple of guesses in here: lose a couple more OOC, win a couple more in. Thirty-two game schedule: 15-17.

Expecting 3-4 transfers out of the program. Hoping Mamadou reclassifies but either way average things out to 4 open spots. Hopefully can land at least 1 more 4 star, 1 high 3 star and 2 grad transfers.

Will have harder OOC schedule most likely (this year was really light on challenges). Think we'll drop 1-2 more OOC games. Do think we'll improve a decent amount in conference with more conditioning, more practice on shooting vs. defense, and more Pikiell-recruited players.

So, I'll guess we drop 2 more OOC, pick up 4 more in conference, and win 1 tourney game to go 17-16. Over .500 and good climb in the rankings puts us in position for NCAA bid in 2019.

3-4 transfers out?

Had 15 wins this year so I'll give us about 5 more so 20-12 ish, on the bubble but might get in with an extra one

I hope some our more optimistic fans simmer down about expecations. RU won 3 league games this year. True they were competitive and had leads deep in several games...but you know what, you can say the same thing for just about every school in this league. Its a tough conference. There are no easies. Being competitive is just one part of the equation. It was a step that

reasoning for this?...not to be a wet blanket but just assuming the team wins 20 game and is on the bubble is pretty wishful thinking.....the difference from 3-15/15-18 to 11-7/20-13 is enormous in this league...also the OOC was atrocious this season, RU would have trouble making the NIT this year with that schedule. We finished 157 in the rpi.....53 spots behind the next Big 10 school Nebraska. We have enormous ground to make up when it comes to actually winning games on a consistent level. Our recruiting class is 14th, thats in the Big 10...slow down

I say we get over the hump and finally have a winning record 16-15. Go 6-12 in the B1G. The games we let slip away this year we get next year with average free throw shooting. The team seems to have learned how to play in close games and win finally.

Can't see anymore than that with our shooting woes. I also think we get a good transfer in this year as players now see we are no longer a laughing stock.

How can anyone predict anything when the schedule is not out ? What Big 10 games are at home? Who do we play twice? Not to mention that no one even knows what the roster will look like.

We need a replacement big man. Thiam needs to average in double figures. Reminds me of when Douby was on, we were in every game. $$$$

Thiam was "on" one game this season, the last one. Lost by 22. Slow down.

Very tough to call. Our 3 guards will show almost have show more maturity, that's a positive. Need a grad transfer big, to give half of what CJ gave us, the rest of the team and recruits need to make us better.

16-15 before Big10 tourney, 5-12 in league.

RU fans cannot turn on Coach P, if our record is similar to this year, need to give him time to recruit and develop. Program needs stability, he is the man to do it.

I don't give a hoot about sagarin or kenpon. Improvement would be getting at least one bye in big 10 tourney.

I'll be a wet blanket. Little to no improvement in the record. Nonconference slate CANNOT possibly be as weak as it was this year -- let's face it, it was atrocious; the only reason we were OK with it is that our program needed training wheels -- and the conference was a bit down this year and figures to be tougher next year.

Even a better team is likely not to be much better in the standings. Thrilled if we're .500.

There is absolutely NO reason to upgrade the OOC much next year. As we get better,,,then we can upgrade. As it is we had to RALLY to win a few of the cupcake games.

A lot depends on who leaves the team and who coach P brings in

I will miss CJ but statistically he was a 7 footer who wasnt even our best rebounder. Deshawn Freeman had 11 double doubles, more REBs(8) per game & Mike Williams had the same 5 REBs & 1 asst per game Gettys did.

I trust coach P will bring in a player that does 8pts/5REBs/1 block per game...but I also expect Doorson to pick up more REBs & points than this year. What we need is a reliable shooter.

If we win 2-3 more B10 games next year I see that as progress, A winning season would be great!

Due to transfers being announced? What is the timeline for when that tends to happen after the season? And when do the 2018 commitments start heating up?

I think--but someone would know more than me--it is spring break this week. Probably won't start hearing about roster moves until next week.

I do think CJ is a big loss. Doorson was not in great shape, has bad hands, no lift off of two feet, incredibly slow afoot. We lose CJ's points and presence. Have to hope Doorson and Diallo improve tremendously in the offseason but it's still going to be a bit of a hole unless a spot opens up and we replace him. On the plus side, you hope Thiam and Omeruyi give you more scoring next year, that Sanders ups his numbers a little in his junior year, and that our freshman combo guard contributes a few points.
