This young team learned another lesson tonight. You cannot spot a team an 18-pt halftime lead in this league. Home or road, Purdue or Northwestern. If they played with even an iota of the intensity in the first half as they did in the second, we likely cruise. That said, I LOVE THIS TEAM. To claw back from 20 down in the 2nd half with the a goose egg from Geo says a lot. We have players and more importantly, a coach.

We’ll be better for having gone through nights like this down the line. We learned from that afternoon in the Bronx. We learned from that Friday night against Northwestern. We learned from that Saturday night fluke a few weeks ago. And we’ll learn from this one. Frustrating/heartbreaking losses don’t scream “same old Rutgers” any more. For once, we have a coach that will drill the message home.

I’ve said it on here many times this year: this was always going to be a rollercoaster season. With at least 2 games left, let’s see what our guys can do.

They likely cost themselves any chance at an NIT bid. I feel bad for them but this was too costly a lesson to learn. A college ball player only gets a few chances to make postseason tournament play and they squandered this one.

Honestly, short of winning the B1G tourney, I'm not sold on the NIT being that big a deal.

Our frosh have already played more this season than any other time in their short career. The league has already battle tested them. I'm not sure they really need more P5 experience to learn anything else about themselves going into the offseason.
