We 5-0! We on a roll!

Would guess the coaches were not thrilled with the shooting--36.5 overall; just 3 of 20 from 3-point line, two of those by one guy. We beat the official spread by point, but Drexel whacked N Texas. At least we didn't turn it over much. We can--and will--play better.

perhaps team had it's Turkey Dinner a day early?

In the words of one of our great alumni......"Just survive and advance" ! and I know this is not the 'Big Dance' but every win for this program is a blessing and Pick is doing one hell of a job changing everything that was wrong into something very positive, winning games !

OK, did not take note of us getting 53 rebounds first look at the stats--against a team with some size. That is a bunch--15 by Freeman, alone. Rebounding and D can win us a few B1G games, and our depth did well tonight. Mixed bag of negatives and positives. Just have to see how this team handles adversity, because there will be plenty in the B1G. If RU were to somehow shock us all, and make the NIT, I would streak my floor in our senior citizen condo, singing Men of Rutgers loudly and I never was all that fast.

You are totally missing it. We shot poorly and went on a spurt in the second half and went up 18 all without shooting well. Outstanding defense and rebounding and shot blocking in the second half was impressive and we imposed our will tonight. We would never ever win a game shooting like this in the past. It is so impressive since we can play better and shoot better and when that happens upsets happen and the top of the Big 10 will go down to the Scarlet Knights.. I am giddy just dreaming what will happen during the conference season.

In the first half, I said to my kids "This feels like a last year game, not a this year game."

Well, the 2nd half proved that we have clearly left last year (and all the ones before it) behind. We absolutely LOSE this game in past years. This year, we clamp down, defend like crazy, crash the boards, feed the post, block shots, get out in transition, and WIN going away.

Wow.

We are slogging it out and wearing teams down with our depth. Making adjustments and clamping down in crunch time.

How many times has RU basketball and football been on the other end of this? Now WE'RE the team with depth and experienced coaching. We're the team that can rely on a better second unit as the game wears on.

Now I know when we get to B1G play, the other teams are going to have depth in spades and top-level coaching talent, so it won't be easy and we'll likely lose our fair share of games. But for now it is just so, so great to see how the other half lives.

The scary part for the B1G is we're only now learning how to win. Learning!

And how's it going to look when Pike gets a roster full of his own kids ( Not disrespecting our current warriors )

The Pikecicles are coming. The RAC will ROCK again. These kids are so much fun to watch!

I fondly remember Bob Wenzel's first year and the magic and, so far, history seems to be starting to repeat itself! And totally dig Bob doing the color on TV for his alma mater!!!!
