These last two losses, though disappointing, show that we’re capable of going toe to toe with the top of the B1G. And we are a team that is still inching haphazardly toward our A game. Right now I think there’s plenty of reasons to believe that we’ll be a team capable of throwing knock out punches come B1G tourney time.
Most of us came into this season knowing that this is a development year. It’s super exciting to see the progress this team is making knowing that Shaq Doorson is the only piece that won’t be returning, and that we’ll be adding a sharp playmaker in Mulcahy as well as another experienced guard in Young. I honestly don’t know how we’ll be able to distribute all the minutes next year. But for the first time in seemingly forever I’m looking at this team and seeing us on a legit rising trajectory for which there’s no end in sight. You don’t have to engage in wishful thinking to envision this team ending our NCAA tourney drought. They just need to get a liiiiiiiitle bit better and it seems like they’re getting there.
