We should have hired Mario Cristobal in 2012

that wife didn't want to leave Florida thing was nonsense. They've been in freakin' alabama for the past five years or so at a lot less salary. For the right price, Cristobal would have been on the next flight to Newark.

First, I also think Cristobal got cold feet and perhaps? didn't want to follow up/make his fried Schiano look bad, Also he well knew what he was getting into with RU.

Re wives, I BET like her buddy Christy Schiano, out of the former or Alabama money she has a Florida beach house where she can frolic in the sand and water by day, be a socialite at night and wait for her big break in "Real Housewives of Florida and Former Florida football coaches". 50% of a coaches salary is a lot of money...

He had FIU to go back to and could gamble that one more year there would bring better offers and wife wanted to wait in the Sun for one rather than take the RU position.
Being at Alabama for 5 years as their OL coach might mean that decent offers weren't there that would help Mario's career and Florida gigs paid much less or couldn't offer the career advancement that working under Saban does.
