Won't be happening. Pikiell already said we pack up the balls after the next loss.
Given that our team has four prominent Freshman that are not used to playing this long of a season, I see no reason to extend things. Let them focus on their school work for the remainder of the semester. I'm sure Huggins and WVU worry much less about such things.
Pike knows what the program needs better than any of us. If he says pack up the balls after the Big Ten Tournament, that's good enough for me. But if he felt the CBI would help, I'd be good with that too.
Huggins is a terrific coach. I’ve always admired West Virginia’s hoops and football teams and especially their loyal followers. I will agree that West Virginia athletics has deeper pockets if participation in the tournament calls for funding. Alluding to less concern about academics is whistling in the wind. There aren’t too many Bill Bradley’s around these days. Since then, maybe West Virginia QB Oliver Luck came closest to emulating Bradley’s combination of academics and sports achievement.Given that our team has four prominent Freshman that are not used to playing this long of a season, I see no reason to extend things. If Pike felt this would be beneficial for the program, Hobbs would have found the moneyPike doesn't write the check for $50,000, Hobbs does.
Pike's job is not to be financial self sufficient, Hobbs is.
Now Pike is responsible for the increased attendance and that is VERY important.
