That is a great story, but it's hardly A-1 material in most newspapers. It is something Rutgers should get out in as many ways as possible, and it sure does have a Big Ten feel to it. This is the kind of things that matter, the kinds of things that research-oriented flagship universities crow about. But A-1 material? Nope.

NJ.Com reporter Steve Politi reported today that Rutgers University Officials hired an outside legal firm to review a series of emails between Head Football Coach Kyle Flood and Professor Evelyn M.Witkin of the Waksman Institure of Microbiology. Allegations have surfaced that Coach Flood inquired in several emails if Leonte Caroo could do anything to change his DNA, despite being warned not to do so by the Academic support team and the Chairman of the Biology Department.

University President Robert L. Barchi said in a prepared statement: "There is an ongoing investigation and we will take no action until such time as someone can explain the meaning of DNA mutagenesis."
Lasker Awar winner Professor Witkin when reached for comment said. "I wish they would just let this nice young man play football."
