First, we are all sickened by this season. I don't think there's many who disagree there??? The injuries have undoubtedly played a big factor but regardless; its been the worst basketball I've seen in 25 years of watching. It's rock bottom.

There have been a few glimpses of hope; Sanders, Laurent and Freeman. Couple that with getting back Diallo and Doorsman, adding Nigel who is not eligible until next year, a senior in Foreman and three freshman (wild cards) and that's the glimmer of some possible hope. The problem is two of the three players above are suspended with zero clarity on where they stand? Are these issues that are easily resolvable, are these two teetering on academic eligibility, are these two planning on returning if they can?

Before I can even think about Eddie, I need to know about the above mentioned players. Here's my reasoning. If we get back Corey and Freeman, we can discuss seeing what Eddie can do with next year's team. Without them, I don't think there's anything to discuss. Corey is the only reason to keep Eddie period.

sorry.....there are 2 paths to take when building a program. Path 1 is Mike Williams and path 2 is Corey Sanders and Freeman.

Path 2 appears the obvious choice, but programs are built from the ground up. Once you have 7 Mike Williams you can then consider taking Path 2 guys.

Now there is the added worry of even if Sanders and Freeman are back next year, how reliable are they to stay out of trouble?

My concern is that Sanders is basically a once-a-decade get for RU. Yes he's a tremendous player and hopefully does great things here, but Rutgers needs to look at the big picture moving forward

I'm not saving a recruiting class to keep Eddie. I think he's a terrible coach who lost control of this program when he first started and it's gotten worse.

I think sanders is that good and it's my only justification for giving him one last year. And that would also mean Laurent stays are Freeman gets a medical redshirt. That's even if we knew exactly why these guys were suspended. The fact that we don't know is just disturbing. You know what, fire Eddie and start over. If that's what needs to happen, let it happen. I can't imagine sanders intends on playing more than one more year anyway.

What is our record with Freeman and Sanders?

We have some players but not enough and certaintly not enough for EJ to win

Agreed. Mike Williams is an easy guy to love. He's my favorite RU player. He's not nearly as talented as Corey, who I also love to watch play. But, Mike gives 110% on both ends of the floor every minute of every game. I'd love to keep Corey and Freeman, but that should not stop Hobbs from canning Eddie. We've all seen enough to know that he is not the answer .
