their superstar status is part of the reason for the dysfunction and not development of a team concept or accountability

Pike s mentor is Jim Calhoun

Calhoun coached his players with tough love yet he remained very well respected by his players

One wonders why Pike hasn’t adopted that tough love approach especially at some point (s) during this fiasco of a season.

Pike sits Ace and Dylan so they don’t pick up a late foul. Pike then comes up with the genius move if intentionally fouling to get them out of their set offense. Completely taking away our 2 for 1 chance. Awful

What I would like to see:
Fire the coach. Pike has lost this team. After 9 years his record is horrible. What exactly gives you hope
Pike can turn it around. I see "more of the same or worse". TIME TO MOVE ON

This team sucks! Period. Watch them run around with their heads cut off on D. We don’t have a center. We don’t have an pf. Ace and Dylan may have mailed it in, and that’s not acceptable. But you’ve constantly ragged on them all year. The losing didn’t just start. This crap goes all the way back to KSU. Pike and co let them down. I’m exhausted of watching a fan base start a new thread talking about Ace and Dylan. This coaching staff sucked this year. End of story. How do you grab an Ivy League undersized pf and think he’s going to compete in the B1G? How do you not grab a portal center? Year 9!! Year freaking 9 and our coach had no clue that this team would get housed on the defensive end. You rag on Ace and Dylan, but your solution is to start Dorth and Martini at PF and C? This team quit because it’s over!! We haven’t had a solution for defense all year and the players know. With that comes laziness and poor shot selection. It doesn’t matter how hard they play, it’s the same result. Once they realized that, they stopped caring.
Did anyone here watch the Maryland game? I hope no one was surprised by that result.

The entire team doesn't play defense...lol...yet you're blaming Ace & Dylan. On defense the biggest problem has been the lack of an above the rim big but lets ignore that as well.

There’s no cohesion on defense, it’s been a problem since Day 1. And when they fall behind you’re not sitting your two best scorers. If they had other options then it would be different.
