JMike needs to be benched like Martini

A POINT GUARD with ZERO ASSISTS?!
More TURNOVERS than POINTS?!

- DYLAN needs to run the POINT Period. That’s his position in the NBA , he is your trigger
- ACUFF STARTS at 2 and plays MAJOR minutes
- ACE at 3
- GRANT at 4
- 5? Doesn’t matter they both suck.
Our offense runs better with him on the court. He supplies some semblance of control. If he doesn't play we're 0for in the Big 10. Acuff probably gives up as many points as he scores and JWill I would say is a walking turnover, but in truth, he's a falling down turnover.

He’s god awful! You think the offense runs better because he does nothing on offense so the ball stays w Dylan and Ace. Not providing a threat hurts us. He’s not a D1 player and will be gone soon.

He's a true freshman who sat out his senior year of HS. He's giving energy and effort and showing some bball IQ. Nice controlled drive and dish to a wide open Derkack for example. 3-3 1-1 from the field 7 points 3 boards... pretty much our best player tonight. Miles better than Martini without many minutes on the entire season to develop

You're being unrealistic if you're bashing Grant and calling him dreadful
Everyone's being unrealistic calling for everyone to be benched. Grant is not some panacea, but a freshman showing promise. He's going to have ups and downs, great possessions and dreadful possessions.

You're being unrealistic if you think a freshman who has just started seeing the court isn't going to look dreadful at times. That's what freshmen tend to do. Bailey makes his share of bone-headed plays, too, and he's going to be a lottery pick.

Grant is not going to carry this team. People calling for him to get 30 minutes, or whatever, are just reacting to the fact that the team is just not good this year and are desperate to grab on to any glimmer of hope.

Did we say 30 minutes? No. Back to JMike. He gets maybe 5 minutes to give Dylan a blow.

You didn't. People are calling for him to get starters minutes, to get all of Martini and Derkack's minutes, to bench everyone else, etc

This is more "bargaining stage" from those posters. He's showing a lot of promise, and I hope he continues to grow and that we can keep him here for next year. But the quick canonization is a bit much by some.

Grant looks really good in comparison to other guys on the team right now... but that's as much a testament to their performance. He's still not a fully baked product.

Oh, I think dreadful is very strong, and I have no expectations for him as a freshman. I'm just saying, yes, was better than Martini, but wasn't a difference maker. Also wouldn't expect him to be one. People were talking like he can save the season. That's over the top.

And just for clarity for those who don't read but only skim ... the statement was that he was "dreadful plenty of times tonight". He was, as was everyone else on the team. No one played a great game from tip to final buzzer... everyone had warts and bad lapses.

Grant was really out of position defensively several times while he was on the floor. But so were plenty of other guys.

I agree. Just because he's been value add over Martini, people are losing their minds
this...Grant is certainly taking advantage of his opportunity with some points and effort and teams literally have no film on him so they dont even know his game. His defense still is poor as is anyone that has played the interior like EO, Lathan and Martini

He’s playing Acuff and Grant more, JMiss only to try to match up with quick guards and Dercrap to, well, lord only knows. Epic portal fail, same as Martini.
