Devo at the Barn in 81, all Ag-field days. I am sure there has been much better.

For me it would be two concerts on campus. Van Morrison at the Barn when he played Wavelength as the first and last songs of the show and an early Springsteen concert at Records Hall. For the encore Bruce came out dressed as a Greaser in a black leather jacket, slicked back hair and sunglasses and did a medley of Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels songs incldg Devil with the Blue Dress on. Two very memorable shows for me.

Muhammad Ali, late 60's. What charisma. And the time was right for having edgy people speaking on campus.

Any cook ag field day

The kinks in the Livingston Abe gym was fun

Miss you denierfest!

Springfests, Ag-Field Days, whatever they called those wild parties at Brower in the early 80s, the world frisbee championships in 1982.

Lots of great concerts: REM at the Busch Pub and a couple of years later a free outdoor show on Busch, Elvis Costello/Squeeze at the Barn, the Replacements at the Cook Gym (coolest part was they oversold the show with counterfeit tix and they came out to all of us on line, who didn't get in and said the band would do a 2nd show at 11 pm; came back at 11 pm and the Mats put on the best show I ever saw them do), the Ramones at Livingston Springfest, the Alarm at the Barn, Primitives/Sugar Cubes at the Barn, and lots of great local bands at the Rutgers Pub - it was so cool that we had pubs on every campus - feel badly for students that came later and missed that.

Also graduation in vorhees mall and walking on college avenue any late October day

Lou Reed at the Student Center. When he did the song 'Heroin", he took out a set of works, wrapped the rubber cord around his arm, and pretends to shoot up while singing , lol. Shock value !

Also Doobie Brothers at end of school year at an outdoor concert on the Busch campus.

Also Spring of 1972, not the best , but very memorable , protesting Viet Nam War, Kent St and Nixon all in one:

David Meiswinkle and the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society) taking over Olde Queens Winants Hall, and then next day marching to the Train Station and halting Amtrak and local trains in both directions. Crazy days to witness for a naive freshman from a country bumpkin HS (Hackettstown).

The old Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City the night Nixon resigned with CSN&Y headlining. When the announcement was made they started with OHIO

Spring picnic on Busch, perfect day for hanging out with a cooler full of beer, throwing the frisbee, etc while listening to Dave Edmunds on an outdoor stage. This all took place in the field beside Busch Campus Center, which is now occupied by McCormick Hall.

Tie betwen Steve Martin and Linda Ronstadt shows at the RAC.

Steve was funny as hell and Linda was hot rocking a RU cheerleader uniform.

Steve Martin at the RAC in 1976 or 1977 when he was still on SNL

Rage Against the Machine and Cypress Hill at the Livingston Gym circa 1991. Any Ag Field Day as others have said.

Rutgers Dance Marathon. I have bad knees (had three surgeries on my left knee by the time I was 19) so I could only volunteer when I was a student. Couldn't stand long enough for the entire event. Wish I could have been a DM dancer, though. Seemed like a great time, and it's definitely for a great cause. If your son/daughter is enrolled at RU, I definitely suggest they get involved with it!

Wynton Marsalis concert was great. So was talk by Noam Chomsky. But my favorite was when Bubba came to speak and I got to shake hands with him. That was pretty cool.

Ah, yes, the Dance Marathon - I remember DJ'ing it a few times.
