It comes down to Ash. If he wins we could roll. If he gets upset then I think that might take the wind out of our sails and it could snowball

We will win 125 to 157, then 174 and 184. At least that's what I think.

Kolodzik will be a huge challenge for AA, Scheifler is very, very good at 174, as well as Baker who will give Gravina fits. Princeton w ranked guys at 197 and 285 also. Princeton w 6 ranked guys in total. Princeton has ranked wrestlers at 141, 149, 174, 184, 197 & 285 Princeton will probably get 8 -12 points at 197 plus 285. A fascinating match to say the least. Hopefully Richie Lewis is ready to go. Any word on him ?

IMO, RU has to get 2 out of 3 wins at 141, 149 and 184 to win. All 3 will be very close.

this site has Kolodzik ranked around 100, in reality he should be ranked around 10. He split w AA last season beating AA easier than AA beat him in the next match. Kolodzik winning is not a big upset.

You have Bak with a MD over Schleifer ?

In their only matchup Schliefer beat Bak last January 6-3

I am wondering what the deal is with Lewis, and maybe he is now redshirting?

This match is too difficult to predict in the early season.

125 - I don't know what they've got in Agaisse.... talented kid, but not sure if he is ready to beat someone with McCabe's college experience. He shouldn't be.
133 - Dip wins
141 - Toss up - Hoping we get the top competitor Ash, not the California version.
149 - Don't know who is wrestling for us.
157 - "
165 - Don't know about their guy. JVB wins?
174 - Toss up with a Princeton lean
184 - Toss up with a Princeton lean
197 - Opponent bonus points every match until I see something different
HVY - Opponent bonus points every match until I see something different.

So if it goes according to plans and Lewis wrestles, we "should" win 125 through 157. Then we just need to win one of the upper weights and enough to offset bonus points.

If Lewis doesn't wrestle, I don't see us winning. Not to be negative, but if McCabe goes first and loses I don't think we win the dual.

It's going to be a very tight dual. Princeton has a very good team this year and we'll need to win 125, 133, and 141 to win the match. Fingers crossed!

Abro he has Bak winning by decision that's the team score he has underneath. Notice how it increases incrementally with each weight class.:chairshot: You get the head bashing guy for that one.[laughing]

LOL, got it. PS- I had to go see an Opthamalogist recently as I accidently banged my head so hard that I had symptoms in my eye like a detached retina. After a 2 hour exam, negative. And today ? In the rain I was in such a rush to get from my trunk to my first sales appoinment I banged my head so hard again, I literally saw stars. I don't need more head bangs, thats for sure !

I didn't think about that. I really hope Lewis is wrestling this year and not RS. If he is out it's going to be a looooooong year team wise.

Is Coach G scheduled to do a presser and announce starters or is that kept top secret for strategy purposes?

Hearing that Lewis is redshirting..bummer if true.It would be a smart move for his career. It will clear out alot of the kids in his weight class and give him another year too get stronger and bigger.

Which means the team will struggle to be ranked this year but will be absolutely loaded next year outside of Heavyweight. Look at next years potential starters:

125 Paetzall RS Fr.
133 Dippery Sr.
141 Ashnault Sr.
149 DeLuca RS Sr. Or MVB RS Fr.
157 JVB RS Jr. Or DeLuca or Lewis
165 Scott or Grello or Donner or Lewis
174 Grello or Scott or Donner
184 Gravina Sr.
197 Mulligan
HVY Correnti or Gross

Basically if Lewis RS we are Minnesota of last year. Will struggle all year in duals but will be a monster the following year.

So you have written off Giraldo for next year. He did qualify for the NCAAs last season. Even if he does not wrestle much this year with Theo at 149,
he still is a possible good option at 149 next year

Good catch, forgot about Giraldo. Point remains though next year outside of Heavyweight we are loaded at every single weight class. Pagano could push for time at 174 as well.

You're right, he would have been ranked in that range, but last year he wrestled for the club team since Ivy's can't redshirt. And since he wrestled for a club team, he was not eligible for a ranking. That's why he's in the 100's this year...

If Lewis redshirts this year, it will create an interesting dilemma.
Giraldo at 149 and Theobold at 157 might give Rutgers their best dual lineup. But, Theobold's best weight for the NCAA Tournament would be at 149.

Theo will be at 149

Theo will be at 149. IMHO, they just want AA's ... Dual record is going to suffer regardless.

I agree. With Theobold being a Senior, he should wrestle enough at his best weight, 149, to qualify at that weight. It makes sense to take care of your Seniors best interests first, when possible.

I'd love to c Scotty D in the lineup next year... and if Lewis wrestles this year I think we can have 33- Scott D, 41- AA, 49- Dippery, 57- Giraldo for next year. Dippery already wrestled 49 before and Giraldo has the frame to fill out to 57.

If Lewis RS this year maybe we have Theo go 49... and Giraldo put on 8 pounds and challenge JVB for 157 spot??

Dippery has a much better chance of becoming an All-American at 133. At 149, Dippery was a relatively average wrestler. At 133, Dippery appears to be a bear. It would be nice if Del could drop 8lbs to get to 125 this year or next year. That would improve 125 until Paetzell is ready to step up.

From an article posted on Scarletknights.com today. Still not sure if I see it happening.

No. 6 Richie Lewis looks to make his season debut Saturday for the Scarlet Knights after picking up an exhibition showcase win against No. 11 Joey Lavallee (Missouri) at the NWCA All-Star Classic.

I wonder if there is any chance of Ash moving up next year. It would obviously be up to him, but it would create the space to not only have a better dual record, but also let a kid go who has a real shot to place at NCAAs. I don't know how the top of the rankings look at 149 for next year. But then you could have:

Paetzall
Delvecchio/Dippery
Dippery/Delvecchio
Ash
Lewis
Grello/Donner
Donner/Grello
Gravina
Mulligan/Correnti
Heavy

Maybe its unfair, but I don't have a lot of faith in Giraldo right now. His run at the Midlands seems like an eternity ago.

I agree, If Ash moved up to 49 it will be best for the team next year. Giraldo showed some glimpses last year.. remember he took it to NCAA champ Brewer before getting pinned. I still believe his talents and hope he gets in the lineup.

TBH with you.... I did NOT see Dippery beating out Del. Del had a year to RS to get even better and Dippery had to suck a lot of weight to go 33.... the results surprised me. Dippery must have taken a leap from last year and I want to see him up against top 20 competition.

Great Point, IF Del can get down to 125 it would be perfect...he needs to find a way to get into the lineup.

Correnti will RS next year.
