Delvecchio is the most overrated wrestler on the RU roster (just ahead of Giraldo). I suspect Delvecchio will not be a starter for RU again. 1) He can't drop to 125 (Paetzall is better anyway, even if he could). 2) Dippery is the man at 133, and will be until he graduates (see my earlier posts about Dip). 3) He can't succeed at 141 (he is already light in the pants at 133).

Agree 100%; Gravina is a winner. He may be an overachiever due to his grit and determination, but certainly not overrated.
I was thinking that Dippery might transfer out for his last two years. I have to give him a lot of credit for his current plan. A Rutgers degree will be a fitting finish. $$$$
Well.. Del has had some nice wins over his career.... Guys like Caleb Richardson, Geoff Alexander, Sabatello, Scott Parker, and his biggest win.. Jonni Dijulius.... Del is a solid top 20 guy and was hoping he could make the jump to AA contender after his RS year... doesn't look to be the case as of now. And on that topic, not every wrestler taking a RS year is guaranteed to improve, some may lose motivation or w.e. It would be ideal if Del can drop to 25 and wrestle off McCabe this year and Paetzall RS.
I certainly thought Dippery was on the outside looking in to start this year, but I'm all aboard the Dippery train. He's an absolute hammer on top. It's going to be hard for Dipp to hold 33 for 2 years though imo..
Wow...I may not post here very often but I do read this board regularly. This is usually a really solid forum with a lot of good fans, but some of the posts lately have been down right horrible. Giraldo is burned out, overrated? Why? Because he is struggling a bit after moving up two weight classes. Tell me...How many D1 wrestlers had immediate success after moving up to weights? Delvecchio is the most overrated? Why? Because he lost a 1-0 matchup with Dippery and isn't in the starting lineup for now? Are you kidding me? Oh and my favorite, Correnti is burned, uninterested, and probably wont last. Yup, because true freshman 197 pounders always come out strong right from the start. Seriously, a few people here really need to calm down and let the season play out, rather than going off with ridiculous and insulting conclusions after the first week.

I agree Abro. That would be a brilliant strategy with our depth at 157. JVB can hold his own there and Lewis at 165 would be savvy. We need a commanding lead in the lower weights as 197 and HVY will likely be major losses as best.

Legit or Creedo or whatever you want to call yourself...You weren't the only one here thowing around insults at these young men who work there butts off for this program, but if you want to take my post as directed at you so be it. I don't think there is anything wrong with critiquing guys on a poor match, tourny, etc. Or being concerned with the effects of a weight cut. Unfortunately, that's not what I was seeing in a few posts. What I saw were people taking cheap shots that were undeserved in my opinion. Would you say these things about Giraldo to his face? I doubt it. But hey, carry on if it makes you happy.

This is really going to be a great dual. Rubber match between Ash and Kolodzik is PPV worthy in itself.
They might both coaches would have to agree on a starting weight, if not they will do a random draw. It would add to the drama of the event.
Going off the interviews, both coaches realize the magnitude of the event and the level of excitement this dual is going to bring. Which makes me think this could be a realistic possibility. Would add some juicy flavor leaving the marquee bout for last.
Highly unlikely that the Rutgers coaches would agree to Ashnault & Kolo being the last match. It would be a great advantage for Princeton as Kolo would have more time to recover after making weight. If you have seen Kolo, a one hour recovery time would help AA. Highly likely that Princeton will want to draw weights. They did last year. Rutgers would prefer to start at 125.
I'm probably looking too much into this but I wonder how healthy Princeton's 285 pounder Ray O'Donnell is. At the Southeast Open he won his first 3 matches and then defaulted the next two matches. The matches he won he pretty much dominated, two TF's and a 5-0 win. That was on 11/6 so if he was just a little dinged up he has had almost 2 weeks to heal.
First of all,I don;t make it habit of confronting 20 year old RU wrestlers.Second,being a state champion myself and a staple in the RU program in the past,I can hold my against anyone.As far as my grammar...I have too be concern with 3 things 1) Doing well financially 2) Being good too my wife and children 3) and mentor people in community with great coaching.Entertaining "never was beens" like most of you are,or get a kick out of watching you all try too convince yourselves that my posts don' matter or I don;t have any inside information,when the views and posts just skyrocketed since I posted again.I speak,blunt truth.You guys are in fantasy land about this program.Top 20 at best...and lower top 20.As far as my Penn State guy coming.The kid got turned off and stayed at Penn State.Not all inside info can be 100%.I was right about Mason,Campo and Gross coming out,way before the coaches knew.
