I Believe, if Ash can grab a title THIS year he may take on the challenge of 49 next year to help the team and challenge himself. Not a chance Ash moves up if Zain stays at 149.

TBH with you.... I did NOT see Dippery beating out Del. Del had a year to RS to get even better and Dippery had to suck a lot of weight to go 33.... the results surprised me. Dippery must have taken a leap from last year and I want to see him up against top 20 competition.
Great Point, IF Del can get down to 125 it would be perfect...he needs to find a way to get into the lineup.
Delvecchio is the most overrated wrestler on the RU roster (just ahead of Gravina). I suspect Delvecchio will not be a starter for RU again. 1) He can't drop to 125 (Paetzall is better anyway, even if he could). 2) Dippery is the man at 133, and will be until he graduates (see my earlier posts about Dip). 3) He can't succeed at 141 (he is already light in the pants at 133).
Seriously? Gravina hasn't even scratched his potential yet...

Dippery has a much better chance of becoming an All-American at 133. At 149, Dippery was a relatively average wrestler. At 133, Dippery appears to be a bear. It would be nice if Del could drop 8lbs to get to 125 this year or next year. That would improve 125 until Paetzell is ready to step up.
Well.. Del has had some nice wins over his career.... Guys like Caleb Richardson, Geoff Alexander, Sabatello, Scott Parker, and his biggest win.. Jonni Dijulius.... Del is a solid top 20 guy and was hoping he could make the jump to AA contender after his RS year... doesn't look to be the case as of now. And on that topic, not every wrestler taking a RS year is guaranteed to improve, some may lose motivation or w.e. It would be ideal if Del can drop to 25 and wrestle off McCabe this year and Paetzall RS.Delvecchio is the most overrated wrestler on the RU roster (just ahead of Giraldo). 125-McCabe-Dec-5th year against a true Frosh-
133-Dippery-Maj-Darcy only gave up one major all last season(but that was at 125)Dip should be able to get the tilts rolling against a smaller Darcy
141-AA dec-match of the day. AA never in trouble wins a 6-4 bout
149-Theo dec Laster-Theo rides Laster for about 2 minutes, wins by 2.
157-Van Brill-dec-big point in match(I think Lewis goes 165, to win both). Coaches have done a great job with the lightly recruited JVB, he gets it done
165-Lewis(I think we lose this weight if Richie does not wrestle). Richie takes a comfortable dec
174-Schliefer by dec-a grind fest with the East Brunswick wrestler getting the dec
184-Baker dec-California kid busted on the scene last week.
197-Harner-major over Correnti-Correnti needs to avoid the fall over the veteran
Hwt-O'Donnel major Gross-see 197
Final Score-RU-19-14
I agree Abro. That would be a brilliant strategy with our depth at 157. JVB can hold his own there and Lewis at 165 would be savvy. We need a commanding lead in the lower weights as 197 and HVY will likely be major losses as best.I think moving Lewis up to 165 for this match is a terrific idea !
Well obviously you shouldn't post on here regularly, because you don't know what you are talking about and seemed too not read threads thoroughly.I gave props too Correnti, for sucking down too 197. I am more concerned about him, than your spewage saying I'm insulting him.The kid looks worn out ...simple.Is it weight cut..could be,or is he burnt out.Look at Dippery...now that's a drastic weight cut per body percentage, and he's making it work. You want too talk about freshman "jitters"? Go read my last post and you'll see that I mentioned that.Another attention seeker writing sympathic posts to gain "thumbs up" from the "never was been posse" on this forum. Giraldo should have AA by now or Rnd of 12 at the least. The problem last year was weight cut..we all agreed. He jumped up 2 weight classes, has had almost a year too adjust, and is loosing too second rate wrestlers.Sound familiar? Say what you want, but he showing signs of "l don't friggin want too do this anymore" syndrome.Happened too Mason, happened too Camp, and arguably happened too Winston .All storied has careers that became a tragedy too the RU Wrestlng fans.In Winstons defense he was battling a lot of injuries.Wow...I may not post here very often but I do read this board regularly. This is usually a really solid forum with a lot of good fans, but some of the posts lately have been down right horrible. Giraldo is burned out, overrated? Why? Because he is struggling a bit after moving up two weight classes. Tell me...How many D1 wrestlers had immediate success after moving up to weights? Delvecchio is the most overrated? Why? Because he lost a 1-0 matchup with Dippery and isn't in the starting lineup for now? Are you kidding me? Oh and my favorite, Correnti is burned, uninterested, and probably wont last. Yup, because true freshman 197 pounders always come out strong right from the start. Seriously, a few people here really need to calm down and let the season play out, rather than going off with ridiculous and insulting conclusions after the first week.
hey guys, public service announcement: click on any poster's name, click "ignore" on the pop up window, then never see anything they post ever again.
it works great, I'm using it now. very simple & effective process.
This is really going to be a great dual. Rubber match between Ash and Kolodzik is PPV worthy in itself.http://news.theopenmat.com/college-wrestling-news/60206/60206

"This might be the first match in this dual that has a solid favorite. Despite rumors that he may redshirt, Rutgers has confirmed that seventh-ranked Richie Lewis will wrestle this season and is projected to be in the line-up on Saturday. This is good news for the Scarlet Knights as Lewis should get the win here. His opponent, Mike D’Angelo (Princeton) had a solid showing at the Southeast Open to start his season but hasn’t been able to get a win against a ranked opponent yet. This one will probably be close on the scoreboard, but Lewis should get the job done."
Do you think they will start the match at 149 so it's Ashnault vs Kolodzik in the finale and possibly/ probably deciding bout ?
Going off the interviews, both coaches realize the magnitude of the event and the level of excitement this dual is going to bring. Which makes me think this could be a realistic possibility. Would add some juicy flavor leaving the marquee bout for last.Do you think they will start the match at 149 so it's Ashnault vs Kolodzik in the finale and possibly/ probably deciding bout ?
Me to, two, tooI assume it is Creedo. At least his poor grammar reflects Creedo. Still waiting for the Penn State transfer that Creedo promised.
Legit or Creedo or whatever you want to call yourself...You weren't the only one here thowing around insults at these young men who work there butts off for this program, but if you want to take my post as directed at you so be it. I don't think there is anything wrong with critiquing guys on a poor match, tourny, etc. Or being concerned with the effects of a weight cut. Unfortunately, that's not what I was seeing in a few posts. What I saw were people taking cheap shots that were undeserved in my opinion. Would you say these things about Giraldo to his face? I doubt it. But hey, carry on if it makes you happy.
