What score satisfies ?

Nevermind the PSU loss but since then, 2-1 with a very close loss against a top 10 team and a remarkable comeback on the road that's a recent performance as good as we could have expected. At least treading water if not trending slightly up.

To me a two score loss Saturday, or closer, without ever being down 21+ in the game, keeps the recent momentum going for me and keeps hope to steal one of the three after that.

What outcome would satisfy others and suggest momentum still + ?

Close at the half and keep it competitive for most of the game. I just don't want it to be over after 15-20 min. If they run away in the the 4th and win by a ton, well they are the best team in the country.

honestly, if we can just run through Ohio State, Nebraska, and Wisconsin without the blowouts of last year it would be major improvement imo. Michigan State was a great leap forward. If the team can show it can hang with the big boys, this could be a successful year even if the team doesn't go bowling.

What really hurt last year was the blow outs. It showed there was a huge difference between the top of the conference and the bottom. If RU wants to compete, it has to be in games against those teams in the 4th quarter. And hopefully steal one now and then.

I would consider it a success in the sense that we stabilized things and likely kept a strong recruiting class together while developing a QB. More of a success given what happened as opposed to a success before all hell broke loose.

A winning score is the only thing that will satisfy me.
I'll let others pick a losing score they will feel comfortable with, before the friggen game is even played.
Don't go on other boards , so I don't know if any other school's fan-base talks about what kind of loss would be most satisfactory.
But know this one has those who find wins unsatisfactory and makes sure other SN members know the win wasn't a good one.
Satisfied with a loss and no satisfaction after a win, makes me think there is something wrong with some of RU's fan-base that post on here :confused:

In 1980 I was at the Rutgers vs. Alabama game at Giants Stadium. Before the game I just hoped that we wouldn't be humiliated by the #1 team in the country. After the game I was pissed that we didn't win.

Before game starts , I reserve the right to be unrealistic and enjoy thinking about RU upsetting OSU
Damm hard for me to root for a "nice" loss before the game is even played and I find accepting Rutgers doesn't have a chance to win totally unacceptable.
Even if I think chance of winning is slim to none with the arrow pointing closer to none than slim.
Upsets happen and will be thinking that can happen Saturday, no matter how many feel it's mission impossible .
