It was adopted in 1986 by the whole NCAA with the same rules.

the 1975-1976 RU team scored over 90 points close to 20 times, if I remember correctly..... this, in a time of no three point
shots, and no shot clock.... so a team like Princeton could pass it around for minutes, waiting for a back door chance...

I tried to find the link to that season, but cannot.... still amazed at how good that team was putting it in the hoop.

Yes, we scored at least 90 points in 25 of our 33 games in 1975-76. Amazing.
