Money is the primary issue when the fanbase couldn’t pony up for an adequate supporting cast.
So the team was less talented than our opponents in most games.

So much wrong with this. These guys’ draft stock is not in question from any source with integrity. There will always be baiting articles, but Jonathan Givony from ESPN who is by far the leading draft analyst for the last 15+ years has them 2 and 3 as of 3 days ago (even says Bailey may push Harper for #2 with strong play down the stretch). This season didn’t work out, but I bet Pike will be in the Green Room on draft day. That video footage goes a long way, as does the “one call away” to Dylan and Ace as they ascend to stardom in the nba.
NIL is not being supported by the “regular” fans . The programs that are winning with NIL are essentially riding their 1-3 whales.
Annoying posters on this board keep screaming it’s because our fan base is cheap.
1. We don’t have the history or size of fan base so that’s not going to magically get “willed” into existence
2. People giving 100, 300, or even 1-3k per year are going to make such a little dent. Basically wasting time and resources and breathe even taking about check writers under $25k per year.
Taking your word for the assertion that we had the financial advantage (in total dollars) in almost every game we played, this doesn't factor in how the money is distributed. The vast majority of our money, whatever the source of that money and whether we will have it moving forward, was allocated to two players. Hypothetically, let's say they each got $1mm and the other ten players split the remaining $500k and therefore averaged $50k each. These (hypothetical) numbers would give us a total NIL of $2.5mm. For argument's sake, let's assign $2mm NIL to each of the other teams we play. We are at a dollar advantage.
But are we at a talent advantage? Rarely, and here's why. Let's say a team could get a modern-day Alan Iverson for $2mm (or Zach Edey, who inside folks tell me actually got $2mm), and there was no money left for other quality players. So there's one superstar and no talent around him. Where would that team finish? At the bottom.
Now let's say a team spent their $2mm on five very good players each getting $400k, how do you think they would do against a team with only one or two elite players and little talent elsewhere? The five very good players would dominate them.
Now back to Pike. He likely wasn't given a pile of money to go out and find players and he decided to spend it all on two players--the dynamic was in the opposite direction. Two players had an interest in us and we had to find the money to keep them from going elsewhere, and the money was evidently gotten. If this scenario is what happened, then our talent was concentrated in two players (young, mind you, not experienced) with the remaining cast as works in progress (Lathan, Grant, Dortch, all freshmen), or hopeful and relatively inexpensive contributors such as Derkack, Martini and Acuff.
If Pike ends up with a nice budget to keep Lathan, Grant and Dortch and to get portal players to complement them at a higher level than MAAC-level guys, it will change the complexion of the team. How the talent is distributed is as important as the total dollars on the floor.
For those in the know, what is the aprrox NIL $$$ needed for each of these 3 ?

If the collective and Pike are smart, then this money isn't going to Ace and Dylan. They are gone in a few weeks. Instead, the money went to key players Pike wants to retain, meaning at least some of the other should pocket a lot more than $50,000 this season. Ideally, this money will be paid after the transfer portal window closes on April 22.
Reliable NIL figures are not easy to get. I have low conviction in most NIL dollar amounts I read, even NIL figures I write.

Also and it’s been said already small donors get into the habit of donating. Some of these small donors who now have a habit of donating may also grow in surplus wealth over time which can lead to larger habitual donations.
Talent selection was poor due to the pool of players we were selecting from, due to lack of money. Money is the #1 reason this team stinks, as much as people want to deny it is. It’s the 800 lb gorilla in the room.

Neither I nor any of the fans on this board that would be doing the hoping work for the program or control its decisions.
I wouldn’t equate the failure in the last 50 seconds of a single game to our history of inbounding issues under Pike
I politely disagree. There is a direct correlation between fan support and a coaches tenure.
Showing up and hoping or creating excuses for a failing coach while praying things change feeds directly into the program staying status quo.
Ok well I am going to continue to watch the games on TV instead of boycotting in some sisyphean quest to get Pike fired.
I hate this view point and will always call it out. The small checks are just as important as the large ones. The large whales aren't coming in if they feel people aren't all in. I certainly wouldn't. Also, some small check writers turn into larger ones. The important thing is to get people to give something, its not that hard.

I didn’t see UConn and it happens but we on three occasions made no effort to move or screen under our basket where the objective should be not only to inbound but to score. That’s what frustrated me.
That is true but what about those many fans that have contributed and the team still doesn't perform up to expectations? Without accountability mediocrity continues and some fans won't continue as ticket holders or financial supporters.
In some way in my opinion it’s easier given all the games these kids play against high level competition so they are more ready in that way then back in the 70’s. However and I think this is more important (again just my opinion) but Dylan and ace are playing against 22, 23 year old very good college basketball players that have been through the wars and in many cases have been with their program for a while. Those guys will have the advantage in closing out games and that’s the way it’s played out. I don’t think we can ignore the illnesses and injuries either if we want to look at things objectively. Doesn’t excuse the record it is what it is but it’s not really surprising at all given everything.
I’m not sure what your continued reference to the UCONN-Seton Hall game means?
Other than UCONN needs to work on inbounding the ball also.

Mostly agree. The questions I would have is are you allowed to complain we stink if you give ? Is there a minimum to get in on the complaining game . It kinda gets murky here. because say I donate $50 and Skoolie donates 5k, can I complain as much as Skoolie?
Then they have a right to complain. Buying tickets isn't contributing though. Donating is.
The people who give more tend to complain less from what I have noticed because they understand how the college sports business typically works.
I only get mad at the people who constantly complain and then point to "the rich" guy to solve the problem and dismiss their small donation won't help.

I agree for the building for the future potential. But it’s such a small chance and it’s like trying to win the lottery . It’s a good and we should’ve been developing the entire alumni base this way for the last 75-100 years.
But if the AD and NIL have limited resources to focus on developing donors. Then trying to get the masses to donate is the “waste of time”
Getting someone to go from 100-200k donation is a hell of a lot easier than to get 500 more people to give $100/yr
