Are we close with anyone who has announced a date at this time? Was Kiss expected to announce or did that come out of no where?

Wish Reid would set the tone with us. Him Kiss Corey Mathis and who ever we pick up would be insane.

Question....Kiss sits out next year, does that take a scholly for next year or not until he plays the year after?

Kiss takes up a scholarship for next year, but he's worth it. Pike obviously likes him since he went hard after him when he was at Stony Brook

so we have 8 returning scholarship players plus Geo, Mensah and Kiss makes 11. So we can add 2 spots for 2017 and then in 2018 we already have Doucoure.

Doucoure may reclassify for 2017

I also think that 1 more player will announce that they're transferring and it'll probably be Bullock

Is this right? If we added two grad transfers for 2017, we would have 5 additional open scholarships for 2018. If we took a juco this year with two years; we could have only 4 open spots.

Kiss
Doucoure
Baker
Mensah
Bullock
Omoruyi
Sanders
Thiam

Most fans don't expect Sanders to come back for his senior season which would add a additional scholarship for 2018.

We have 2 scholarships open for next season. In 2018 we have 3 definite (Freeman, Sa, & Williams) and possibly more if sanders or anyone else should leave. Doucoure should take one and hopefully we can get Mathis and Reid. I still don't understand why so many still think Doucoure might re classify. As far as I know he will be 2018.

wow , talking to yourself on a message board. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: interesting LOL.

Sad!
Absolutely. I also watched 9 out of 10 episodes of Bosch Season 3 last night. That's a lot of tv in one sitting. I believe I have several issues so talking to myself on the message board is par for the course.

Can the mods weigh in on doucoure reclassifying? I believe they said 80-85% chance it would happen but I see most recent posters saying it's not. Anyone with knowledge on the situation know? If it is not happening now what changed?

knights

We only have three big men next year....with diallo transferring.

and a verbal in doucoure for 2018 that could reclassify

Put two and two together ....

He is. Like @RUsojo said, whether he thinks he is or not is a different story.

He's very wild while driving to the rim, often throws up bad shots instead of looking for a pass outside, his shooting needs lots of work, and he can't hit a free throw for crap.

Anyone that thinks he's NBA ready is not very smart. Or they don't watch the NBA

Scarlet Shack, I would love to have Doucoure for next year but as far as I know that will not be happening. I don't understand where that rumor ever started. I think we will bring in another center between now and August.

The mods said it was likely to happen. Now I've asked a couple times for any update and silence...

If you find a grad transfer that is ready to play and can be in the Top 8 rotation/starting caliber player, you don't need to move Doucoure up....it's not that complicated...if there isn't a reasonable 5th year, then you at least you have the option to reclassify him up to 2017....

Sanders is not NBA ready, but it's not totally out of the question.

The bigger conversation is the fact that the d league is paying 80gs next year. Forget the NBA.

Down to 60% on him returning.

What mods stated that? The ones on this site? I've never seen this.
Yea they said 80-85% chance a while back. If he's not anymore I would like to know if it's bc he's not able to academically or if either doucoure or the staff want him to stay 2018

I've heard absolutely nothing from anyone that would indicate that Doucoure plans to reclass to 2017. In fact, quite the opposite.

Now...that could be some sort of shell game...but that's not how I'm reading it right now

No offense, but, the Round table mods rarely follow Basketball. They focus on football. I would not give any BB prediction on the RTmuch credibility.

If you want a prediction about BB....listen to BK.

Fans aren't saying that Sanders is NBA ready but rather that he won't be at Rutgers for his senior year.Where he will be is yet to be answered but there are options open .

Re-classification was mentioned when he committed. What I'm questioning is the RT Mods throwing out a 80-85% chance prediction.

Comments directly from Doucoure indicate that he is focused on 2018 and is attempting to get 4 star recruit and AAU teammate Mucius to join him in that class. I'll take his own words over any speculation.
