Because Brian Brecht said so would be my guess. A few years ago. Don’t recall the exact year. And not Yurcak? And when did that start?
That’s the stadium not Yurcak.Construction cost $28 million + $102 million expansion.
Wow
Lacrosse games were moved to HPSS so that the stadium would be a multisport stadium instead of Football only. This allows the Athletic Department to book the capital cost and maintenance of the stadium to a multisport line, instead of football specific. Without this accounting change, the Football program would show a loss, or smaller profit.
Yes. You are correct.I recall a few lacrosse final fours at Rutgers Stadium back in the day.. or am I misremembering that? 8 times since 1971
Yes. You are correct.
And now that the NCAA has supposedly given up on the idea of having it in a really big pro stadium maybe we get it back here someday.
What was the attendance this past Saturday?Maybe I’m reading into the posts too much but it sounds like you guys are making this into a bad thing. It’s a nice facility for lax and the expensive stafium gets used more. What’s the downside?
It was 701. In a stadium that holds 52,000+. That's why some people ask why the games are played there, I guess. No clue - why?

I don’t think the same expenditures are made on staffing as a fb game if that’s what you mean. And close down the upper tiers - 10k, Audi Club - 1k, South Endzone - 10k. You have 31k capacity. Yeah, I get it, still too big for games which I guess draw ~2k typically, but I don't see it as being a problem. It was 701. In a stadium that holds 52,000+. The move was heavily done because of TV time. The stadium is set up to broadcast games in a much better way.
All we need do is have a AR overlay into the cameras so they always show a full and excited virtual crowd. Its the future. The move was heavily done because of TV time. The stadium is set up to broadcast games in a much better way.

Yeah but it is set up for better HD tv exposure as opposed to the other option. The football stadium looks like crap for lacrosse on TV because the have the football gridlines on the turf plus the lacrosse lines painted on top and barely visible.
They should go to LED lines.. the tech should be there.. have configurations for soccer, lacrosse, football.. dodgeball.. graduation... whatever you can think of.. lay down addressable lighting on a plain green field. -copyright ME if no one else has that alrteadyYeah but it is set up for better HD tv exposure as opposed to the other option.
That is actually a pretty brilliant idea. They should go to LED lines.. the tech should be there.. have configurations for soccer, lacrosse, football.. dodgeball.. graduation... whatever you can think of.. lay down addressable lighting on a plain green field. -copyright ME if no one else has that alrteady
DOH.. of course OREGON either has this or will soon...:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
That is really cool. I wonder how it would perform in regards to drainage, players getting tackled on the field, traction, etc. They should go to LED lines.. the tech should be there.. have configurations for soccer, lacrosse, football.. dodgeball.. graduation... whatever you can think of.. lay down addressable lighting on a plain green field. -copyright ME if no one else has that alrteady

indoor stadiums would probably work best.. sunshine can be too bright for led to be seen.. I'd imagine. That is actually a pretty brilliant idea.
But they do - at least in the Hale Center. There are (at least there were) athletic training practicums there.By this logic, they should have a couple classes in their somewhere. Boom.....general ledger takes a small hit and no more funding issues for athletics. .
It poured nearly the entire game, thankfully the stadium has the overhang over the top few rows of seats to keep many dry, I was very surprised that the attendance was as high as it was, considering the conditions. It was 701. Hopkins has FB. DIIIThe Big Ten uses their football stadiums - Ohio State, Michigan, And well JHU doesn’t have football so their lax stadium is essentially their main stadium.
