I knew the answer, but said, why hire a new coach but you never saw any mention of his previous record in the newspaper (at least the Home News/Asbury Park Press). Because Jordan's previous record as a pro coach is 257-343. Give me a break.

BACK to my thread title. Why fire Jordan now!

If you don't, you are sure to lose Sanders and maybe Williams and basically anything left that the next coach can build w.

FIRE JORDAN NOW!!!!

FIRE JORDAN NOW!!!!

You fire Jordan to show that you give the slightest about the men's basketball program. It's two and a half years. We're not building Rome. Everything is pointing to us heading in the wrong direction.
Stop with the comedy. It's time to get a new leader for this program.

Hits the nail on the head. We need to show that we actually care about the program.

Losing or not losing players should never be taken into equation.

You fire Eddie because he is embarrassing himself and the school. Rice sucked as a coach and is a flawed human, but even he didn't deliver results this bad.

Forget the scores...Eddie's team are weak and don't compete. Even with a roster full of players he recruited with no injuries, the results would be the same.

The fact that he has no players recruited for next year is very telling about where the program is going. Amazingly, it could get worse if he stays.

Eddie Jordan does not deserved to be fired, however he needs to be.

Credit him for the time spent as coach and thank him for helping heal the program. Admit that he never had a chance and then tell us however it is time to change direction.

Yea, such a radical position.

I'm not faulting you, that's your opinion. Why you post it for the 50th time....I have no idea. I guess you think Hobbs is listening to you....lol

Hobbs will not make a decision based on message board comments....saying it over and over is silly. Even if Hobbs reads the board, he will quickly understand it's the same vocal 7 or so posters calling for it.

Of course it is important. Are you serious! How is it not an important reason to fire him now instead of waiting until the end of the season after Sanders and maybe Williams is gone.

That's the most intelligent post I have seen in a long time on this board. Sometimes you just have to make a change even if the deck is stacked against the current coach. I don't agree, but, sometimes it happens.

I think the negative comments here, on Twitter, wherever are important. So that no one can ever think this horror show is acceptable. And your constant defending of Eddie at ever turn is totally logical.

This is Rutgers. Barring an unforeseen personal indiscretion that forces the administrations hand, he isn't getting fired during the year. That has never happened here unless you have a Rice type spaz out that gets caught on video. I get the feeling Eddie is the opposite of that, probably falling asleep at practice.

Even so, bringing in a new coach now, who would that be? You would still have the same issues at the end of the year.

And who cares? Corey has some talent but the kid is a street baller. Any real coach is going to have him fit into a system. Can/will he do that? Mike Williams? He puts on a Rutgers uniform and seems to try most of the time. I'll leave it at that.

Any real coach is probably going to want to bring in his own players.

I would support ANY coach if the deck were stacked against him.

If Hobbs is considering negative comments from a few fans I would really be disappointed in his ability to assess the situation and come to a reasonable conclusion.

he will make a decision with input from our season ticket base and also media pressure which will happen by seasons end

Few fans. LOL

How many fans? There are about 7 on this board. Most are influenced by Bac's crusade and DAILY threads. How many have sent emails to Hobbs as suggested by crusader bac? How many boosters are calling for Jordan's head? I assume you have the numbers.

I'll repeat it again...if Hobbs makes a change, I will support the new coach 100%. ;On the flip side, the same crusaders will come back and demand another change in 3 years.

Perfect time to clean house w a new AD. Jordan was a bad choice from day one. If he is not fired before the end of the season, I will be very disappointed in Hobbs. If he is not fired at the end of the season, then Hobbs was a bad choice for AD.

Of course you do....that's the Rutgers way....change every 3 years, coaches and/or AD's.

Hobbs isn't firing him before the end of the season. That is unrealistic. Let Eddie finish it out and then kick the search into high gear. You get nothing by firing him now except for more instability. The results are the same either way.

If we are this bad after 3 years of a new coach, yes, I will call for his firing as well. No more settling or being patient. Get the job done.
If the next guy is losing by 50 in year 3, he should get fired too.

Ruman says fire him for the 50th time.......Hobbs will listen. If Bac seconds it for the 50th time....it's a done deal.
I defended Eddie because I felt he didn't have enough time on the job to start making RU MBB better. But i stopped defending Jordan because the team hasn't shown one bit of improvement
in his third year as HC and recruiting doesn't seem to be going too well.
I really don't know if Jordan can do the job like I once thought he could. so if he's replaced I won't complain he didn't have enough time to prove he could turn the program around.

I agree Ruman. I truly believe Jordan is a nice guy, and feel bad for him. But he has very little to show in way of coaching accomplishments except a couple of good seasons.
i'm a nice guy and i'll coach the team for 50K with the same and maybe better results

So you could get a better result with six healthy scholarship players and one scholarship player playing on one leg?you could do better with one healthy player over 6'4" tall and one was such a bad knee that he is glued to the floor? I don't care if you have Dean Smith coaching this team, there is just no way that they could be competitive. The fact is, We have not seen at a coach a team of his players with anything more then a depleted roster.

No need to make a change during the season. Just do it promptly at the conclusion. You could reach out to EJ next month to see if there is a settlement to be reached but it should not impact the end result either way.

Too many red flags, poor recruiting, transfers out. Time to move on. We are not missing out on something by keeping him

Ru Choppin is right, three years for now coach will be 10-14 and people will be yelling for him to be fired. not just transfers but we need a good weight training program. Next year how much bigger will Foreman be? Should be by next year 220 pounds. that needs to be fixed also.

Willard seems to be a Waters type..can get you into the NIT but not the NCAA. If he was here thats not enough. SHU ceiling may not be as high as Rutgers if we existed in a normal world. Not sure what the realistic expectation should be at a small school like that but if we didnt have a history of being a train wreck..6 years is plenty of time to make the NCAA. Variables going into it like recruiting and program trajectory. Its pretty easy to see 3 years into Eddie we are regressing

I'm sorry, doesn't strength and conditioning fall under the responsibilities of the head coach?

There are far more than a few fans on a message board showing disappointment. The number of season ticket holders is at all time low.The games are not competitive and recruiting is so bad that not one player signed in November.Fans accepting of mediocrity have been rewarded with over 35 years of futility in mens basketball.

Sanders said he's not leaving. Nobody is leaving. The team knows they're banged up and behind the 8 ball. They will all be back. Eddie will be back. The roster will fill out. They will be better. No money will be wasted on a buy out. They'll be one year closer to shovels in the ground.
