The same event at the Osprey Point GC in Boca Raton that opened their Spring last year. In that one the team entered the final round in a strong 3rd position but struggled, allowing Vanderbilt to move into 3rd with Indiana and Wisconsin an opening to make a run at them. The 3 ended tied for 4th. Rutgers had 2 players in the Top 15 who have since graduated. The Rossettin sisters did play so they should know the course. USF held off Denver to take the trophy. Only Denver returns. #21 Oklahoma State, #34 Kentucky, #37 ECU, #44 Oklahoma, and #46 BYU are Top 50 teams in the field. Strangely, this is the 3rd time RU faces the 2 Oklahomas in the same event since September. #112 Rutgers is the 12th ranked team out of 15 entered. There are no other B1G teams entered.

Rutgers Projected Lineup

Sr Lucrezia Rossettin (Capt)
So Lorena Rossettin
So Grace Lu
Fr Joline Truong
Fr Judy Amano

Each round the top 4 scores out of 5 count toward the team score.4 BYU

For the first 2 rounds Monday, Rutgers will be paired with #102 Tulane and #111 FIU in the shotgun starts.

Apologies. I listed ECU as #37, They're #87. Must need new reading glasses.

Round 1 saw the team start off slow thanks mostly to a few Double and Triple Bogeys. One player who didn't suffer any bad holes was Frosh Joline Truong (Ontario, Canada) who shot a 3 Under 69 on the Par 72 Osprey Point GC. She had 4 Birdies and 1 Bogey, a pretty clean card. That was good for T10. She was followed by Edison's Grace Lu with an Even Par 72 and T25. Lorena Rossettin (T35) shot 73, Judy Amano a 2 Over 74 (T46), and Lucrezia Rossettin (75th), an 80.

Round 3 appears to have been the toughest the field faced. Rutgers, starting the day in a 3 way tie for 5th, was able to move up to 4th while holding off challenges from #46 BYU, #53 Texas Tech, and #82 Mercer to take solo 4th place. The finish tied the best '24-25 finish so far. It should be noted this one came against a stronger field with RU 12th ranked out of 15 teams entered.

Rutgers shot a team 290 for a +2. For the 3rd time in 3 rounds RU was led by a different team member, this time RSSo and Wm&Mary transfer, Grace Lu from nearby Edison, NJ. Lu shot a clean 69 with 3 Birdies and 15 Pars. She was followed by Lorena Rossettin's 1 Under 71, Joline Truong's 2 Over 74 and Judy Amano's 76 completed the team score. Truong, Lu. and Lo Rossettin were T16 in Par 5 scoring (4.92)
Lu was 2nd in Pars (42)

2, #21 Okl State.............-15

The Knights should see a decent bump in their rankings. They'll receive points for beating 8 teams that are ahead of them. They will also lose a little bit for finishing so far behind the winner. Among other considerations are the team score compared to the courses slope and rating.

Individually, Oklahoma's Grace Mayo took the title with a 3 round total of -11. Denver's Emma Bryant was 2nd, 3 strokes back. Mayo's Sooner teammate, MaKayla Tyrrell was 5 back.

The team is now off till the 24th when they start play at the Bruin Wave Invitational in Valencia, Ca, hosted by UCLA. Among those competing will be Arizona, Cal, Baylor, and Pepperdine.
