Pretty even 1st half. We came out with purpose in the 2nd & dominated. Got an own goal & then Colby Ciarrocca on an excellent feed from Amirah Ali--pretty play.
Good win and great way to start the conference season.
The next two games will be crucial in determining whether or not RU can go for the conference title. In the past few years, the women haven't played up to their ability on those road trips out to the Midwest and lost or tied games with lower ranked teams. Hopefully, this group won't fall into that trap AND remained unscored upon, which is a remarkable feat.

740 minutes...that's how long Murphy's current shutout streak is.
In case anyone was wondering, the NCAA streak is over 1,600 minutes, and it lasted an entire year.

That own goal was a bit embarrassing. I got worried at first until I didn't recognize the keeper since it was a great shot!
It was actually a cross. We had someone wide open driving the goal from the right side. The Maryland defender had to try to intercept the cross. Unfortunately for her, & fortunately for, us she put it in her own net. Didn't see it from the stands, but if you look closely at the video, Ciarrocca's goal deflected in off a defender's leg. Also watch the Goalie.
