Colby Ciarrocca scored in the 84th minuite. Erin Smith & Cassie Inacio with the assists. It was hot out there & I believe we wore them down a bit. We subbed liberally, certainly more than U Mass., which is a bit banged up.

We clearly had the better of the play, but once again are a bit challenged finding the back of the goal. Have a feeling it may come. Midway through the 2nd O'Neil moved Erica Skroski to center middie. Made a difference, as she is so skilled & see's the field & play so well. Left us a bit shakier on D & as soon as we scored she moved back & they closed it out. Madison Tiernan in knee brace & did not dress. Don't know her status.

I had to watch the video about 8 times before I could definitely confirm that they weren't offsides on any of the passes. It was like 2-3 Rutgers players vs. the goalie during the scoring play. I'm really happy for the quick start for the year! Should help tremendously in making the tournament.

PhilaPhan, I watched the video 3 or 4 times & have to confess that in it Colby looked offside, probably Smith as well. Couldn't tell from the stands, as the action was at the far goal from where I was seated among other RU fans. Too many bodies & no angle. Never questioned it in real time nor did I hear anyone else. Quick start is great. As I noted earlier O'Neil is playing at least 20 each game excluding the keeper. Believe he is evaluating the frosh & other newcomers, including those back from previous years injuries; relative to the froshs' readiness to play at this level, positions best suited for each player & team chemistry, among other things.

Except that the women haven't played any good teams yet. The OOC schedule is pretty weak. Still, the ladies are now at #24 in the polls and could easily be 7-0 heading into conference play. The toughest games look to be at the end of the season. Penn State is the team to be in the B1G, and Ohio State is also strong.

They certainly haven't played any top 25 teams & probably won't in non-conference play, but they're not all dogs either. Hofstra lost 2-1 to Penn State. Lyola Marymount is probably decent & Drexel & U Conn coming up are showing well thus far. We shall see. Hoping for the best.
