First of all, Nigel does not start and if have watched any of the game , you will see he mostly passes and defers and has been reined in by Bennet.t. If he gets reckless , he will on the bench in a minute . Yes we miss him over Souf, but Geo has taken up the slack for his offensive production . I wish he was still here so we would have 4 competent guards and another three point shooter but his attitude here compared to Virginia is Night and Day.

If Nigel was still here would it have made a difference in a game this year? Would Nigel have to change his ways to be a better fit? Could Rutgers be 13-4 or better instead of 11-6? I wonder what everyone thinks.

I'd say yes... but I don't think that Nigel would have adapted well to a reduced role behind Corey, Geo, and Mike. Would he have been okay with 12-14 min off the bench?

If he wouldve been okay with 20 mins? Sure. But he showed last year he wasnt ok with that

I think it might have made a 2-3 game difference. Not just because of Nigel but Souf has been terrible

I don’t think we lose either of the Stony Brook or Hartford games with Johnson. Otherwise, I think we would have the same record. That’s being said, I don’t care that he’s gone.

We should have won those two with or without him.

Why do people still keep bring up Nigel? He wanted to play in the NCAA and return to his home state. Give it a rest already.

Pikiell said there were too many clubhouse lawyers (Nigel) last year. He said he needs a team filled with players with all 10 toes in the water. Last year there were guys (Nigel) with only six toes in.

Pikiell did not want him this season. I don't want him this season.

if it was my choice..yes. I've said it already multiple times. But it appears it was his choice so "see ya".

I would take Soup over Souf.

And while we're at it....Bollox over Bullock.

Two wasted ships...

He used to play basketball for Rutgers and this message board is devoted to ... Rutgers basketball ! ... so of course he is discussed here. Why would he not be ?not interested for some reason, look the other way.

I bet the coaches wouldnt considering the way Nigel simply left the facility during the Iowa game. And when I say during..I mean during.

Guy seemed like a jackass.

Nigel gone and I think both the coaching staff and Nigel feels it was the right thing for him to do.
Could be Nigel, this season, might not have been happy with the playing time he would be losing to Baker and wished he transferred.
That might just have hurt the chemistry of this year's team and could be considered a negative compared to the way Souf fit in as a teammate.
Won't knock Nigel because what I posted is just speculation, but Souf's a Scarlet Knight and I'm glad to hear he is supportive towards his teammates despite not having a good year himself

yes I would take Nigel if you want points, unfortunately Pike was dealt with the hand that Jordan gave him, posters here said that Nigel was another Magic Jordan and best shooter on the team

Souf has looked more confident killing minutes lately. D has been decent.

I would like someone who doesnt have a permanent RED LIGHT to shoot though. Teams are aware of this.

Agree that Souf has looked more confident, and he gave us much better minutes last night than he had been earlier in the year. Can we give that red light to Freeman from the outside, though? Pretty please? He's now 4/24 for 16.7%

@RUChoppin I think he needs a yellow light.... proceed with caution. He shows glimpse of being very good. Then forces the notion sometimes.

Souf definitely killing some minutes well now. Just needs to shoot here and there keep them honest.

Maybe just having a red light before the last 5 seconds of the shot clock. Once there's 5 seconds or fewer left, if you find yourself with the ball on the perimeter, fire away. Same with Sa.
