This time an obvious missed call works in our favor, finally!

after geo’s first miss on final possession, Yeboah gets rebound and takes about 4 steps as everyone’s bumped. Shoulda been a travel call.

not complaining, I’m so glad we won this game. But it’s crazy sometimes how bad the refs can be.

I thought Geo's step back on the winning shot was a travel. Gave up his dribble, then took 2 steps back to plant his feet, maybe I'm wrong?

He dribbled the ball after he rebounded it and before he passed it. Not a travel.

Yes but after the dribble and before the pass he clearly moves both feet. Was he pushed? Possibly.

Could have easily been a travel, we caught a break, finally.

The strip of Geo on the prior possession was a clear foul too....so was a clear player from Nebraska touching a ball before it went out of bounds.....although it wasn'tat the end of the game, it was in the middle of the 2nd half...Nebraska got an extra 3 attempt but missed.

If you wanted to potentially send a team to OT, on it's home court on a phantom non travel and non travel on Geos 3, good luck with that....especially with the "eh" calls that Iowa benefitted from the other night in Iowa City.

its kinda my point to this thread. Refs are so bad this year, it seems. They’ve won games for us. They’ve lost games for us.

it definitely seems like big ten refs favor home teams when it comes to calls

The view of the play from under the basket makes it look not so clear cut. He dribbled once, planted his right foot I think, then took several steps with his left. The right foot dragged a bit but was due to a push. No way that would have been a valid travel if they had called it, especially not at that point in the game. If anything it should have been a push foul against Easley I think.

Glad the refs let the endgame play out. Would have been horrendous to put their imprint on the outcome based on two “maybe” travel calls.

The refereeing for how much these guys make and the fact that there are 3 refs is just so bad both ways it’s just criminal how many blatant calls they miss and both ways(of course it has cost us especially on the road)

One of the Nebraska players next to him (I think the walk on frosh) made the travel signal right before Yeboah passed. I noticed during the replay. I think it was a travel but I also think he got fouled.

Thank you.

Only at Rutgers do we say things like "Thank God we didn't get called for the travel when the guy pushed our player."

Stockholm syndrome in full effect here on the boards.

By the way the announcer commented on how Yeboah should have gotten a foul. Once again impartial observers commenting on TV about how foul should have been called in our favor that were not.

We don't even get home cooking at home.

It kills me to acknowledge it but this is definitely a Jersey thing. We are not used to having good things because when we get them it is drilled into our heads that it is due to someone else is getting screwed or that it is somehow un-earned.

It's crazy right?

As stupid as the "it all evens out" nonsense.

Rutgers academic and sports success is viewed the same way.

"Of course my kid should be able to get in as a safety school. What! he got waitlisted, it's the state school, everyone should be able to get in. And, oh by the way, I can't believe we spend so much tax money on the sports programs."

I counted 3 or 4 walks that were not called on Nebraska as well. They lucked out several times as well as the out of bounds that gave Nebraska 3 more shots with the ball. Everyone in the RAC saw that one except the officials.

His first step back was was planted as he picked up the ball. The second foot was slid back next to his privot foot which did not move. It was not even clome close to a travel, but if you can be fooled I guess a ref that is not paying enough attention can too.

Agreed, there were some bad travel non-calls in that game.. Mack for instance had a very high dribble on an important basket that was definitely a travel. Both teams reached-in quite often.. no calls. I prefer that kind of let-them-play refereeing.. as long as its fair both ways.

I thought it was a point of emphasis to call that step back a travel this year
It is when there is a travel . A some kids step back after the ball is picked up so there front foot is the pivot foot. When the back foot is planted after they already are holding the ball, it is a travel if the other foot is slid back. Geo did not do that. He had his step back planted as he picked up the ball. Either foot could be the pivot. He only slid one foot so he did not travel.

trust me...this mindset is shifting as many top HS kids are actually not getting in to RU...ESPECIALLY the honors program (which is no joke btw)

Geo was not fouled on the strip imo. Thought that was a great play by the defender. Yeboah was clearly fouled and it’s not clear he didn’t release the pass in time so good no call there.

watch again...the guy basically grabs Geo's junk

on what planet is that not a foul?!!

wtf...are you in some referees basement?

#stockholmsyndrome

Geo not a travel. Yeboah possibly a travel dependent on when he got the pass off. Have to see the slow motion. But as others have said, it looked like got fouled. Good no call.

This is what drives fans crazy

The no call there is the refs way of saying ok...you walked but you were bumped that caused tje walk and we don’t want to call a foul and decide the game that way, so we won’t call the talk ...play on

So true - several posters on this board continue to amaze with how they see all things with a negative twist. Weird - but it is a New Jersey thing.

The next time you hear someone say that , hand them a dollar and tell them they can keep the change.
