The Future is bright...Yesterday Corey Sanders + Jonathan Laurent became the first 2 #RHoops freshmen to score 20+ points in the same game

Great game and even better effort from whole squad.

These guys were so gassed at the end of the game and what warriors Sanders; Laurent; Lewis; Williams and Grier are.

I was down on the team earlier in the year but EJ has done a terrific job in motivating the squad and having them apply max effort despite shortfalls in personnel etc.

I, for one, will be very much looking forward to next season and I expect us to be in the 8-10 position range in the Big 10 next year presuming no major transfers; and improvement and productivity from the group of Freeman/ Doorson / Diallo (out for season) and from the incoming players.

I agree, although I am still afraid how thin we are in the paint next year.

Too bad Williams fouled out in OT1, don't recall if any RU players came off the court after he was gone. Illinois had just a little more push left in OT3.

We lost to a depleted bottom feeder at home....please don't call it historic.
Yeah a bottom feeder that beat Purdue. They are not in Rutgers or Minnesota 's 0-10 range. Hill and Dunn are 2 of the best players in the Big 10 , both highly recruited out of Simeon HS in Chicago. They also shot 30-34 from the line , 88 percent , which usually doesn't coincide with a bottom feeder !!

I'm trying really hard to see the silver lining. Really trying.

So all of a sudden RU will.improve next year and all the other teams will take a step back?

Their big man played in that game...upsets happen. Ru beat Wisconsin so what. They are in the bottom 4 of this league right now.

To piggyback on Rock...Rutgers fans always view our progress in some bubble but need to start realizing its progress compared to others all of who are bringing in better classes

Laurent definitely has some potential. I can only imagine what his limit would be with a good coach. Hope we find out.

Yeah that is usually what happens!! Iowa will lose 4
of their seniors. Do you think without Uhtoff, Jox, and Woodbury and Gesell they would have beat Ru at home. Ru played one of their better games and competed hard and would have won if not for a Top 10 team with 2 All Big 10 players playing lights out.
It would not surprise me at all if we play them at home next year, if we do, that we can win that game or it goes to the wire.

It you do not think we have a chance to beat
Gimmee what you're drinking
oj. If you think with our full healthy roster back and no transfers, that we have no shot against Wisconsin, Iowa, Northwestern, PennState, Minnesota, Illinois, Maryland if Tremble and Stone leave for the Nba and Carter, Suloman and Layman graduate , and Michigan, then I will totally disagree. Especially at home there is a shot to win against them all. It doesn't mean we will but I believe we have a good shot.
Michigan State and Indiana reload so almost impossible to beat them. I believe Ohio State , Nebraska, and Purdue, except for Hammons leaving, have all their players back, and also will be difficult.
But to say we have no shot of winning , or taking the game to the wire is pure nonsense.

All I know is that with each succeeding year of failure Rutgers will be closing in on 30 years without one NCAA bid.

Have to disagree.

When a game...
*Goes into triple overtime
*A player (Sanders) sets a Rutgers single-game freshman scoring record (39 points)
*Two freshmen (Sanders and Laurent) score 20+ points in a game for the first time in school history
*Two freshmen (Sanders and Laurent) score a total of 62 points, the most combined points in a game by two freshmen in school history
*Sanders hits a miraculous 3-pointer (ESPN No. 1 Play of the Day) to extend the game during overtime...

it's historic..

yes Iowa would have beaten them...they beat RU by 40 last year, if you think Iowa was not sleepwalking in that game you are fooling yourself...RU played very good but the outcome wasn't in doubt. I can bet you will be a top 5 Big 10 team again...and surprise just like people said they weren't going to be good this year. Fran McCaffery is a great coach, his classes have been rated worse than RUs dating to Rice. He wins by great coaching and overachieving.

gee if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle...if we only had Hinson and Douby on the team we would be in the NCAA tourney this year.

any game can go to the wire. Upsets happen. RU beat Wisconsin last year, what does that mean..nothing. If you don't do it consistenty. Fred Hill beat top 10 Georgetown here. Stop reading into losing by 14 to a top 10 team has some sort of enlightment that the team has turned the corner. Illinois beat Purdue who crushed RU by 50

omg sheer ignorance here....lmfao..all these teams get worse and don't reload...are you kidding me. RU got crushed by 35 points in one half vs a mediocre Ohio State that is young and not going to the NCAA this year...now you have us beating the likes of Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa...lol. RU can beat some of those lesser schools, I agree with you..they aren't going to win them all..those schools also are annexing the game against RU as a win. Penn State has 3 Philly players coming in next year....the #2 class in the Big 10. RU will win some of those games against fellow bottom feeders...some is the key word

We took games down to the wire under Hill and Rice and even Jordan last year againt MD and INdy....what does that mean, Minnesota has lost 6 or 7 Big 10 games by 7 or less points..what does that mean when they are 0-11/6-17

hope for 4-5 Big 10 wins next year and maybe 8-5/9-4 in OO..that puts the team at 12-19/13-18/14-17 range

I see a post like this, barely flinch, and realize how I have completely acclimated to how utterly bizarre this board and remaining fanbase have become.

I doubt this site gets much traffic from opposing fans, but - for the ones that visit - this must seem like the Twilight Zone.
