Called safe, but looked close from the replay I just saw. Your Dad said he was out (and went ballistic on the ump!). Has your Dad ever suggested Robinson was safe?

We've done this to many times on this board Ra Ra
Dad is 90 now and if I say the name Jackie Robinson, the only thing out of his mouth would be "he was out"
After that he'd tell you Jackie and him came up together and were great friends…

I figured it must've been discussed here, but I've never seen it. Your Dad's answer says it all. I thought he was out, too. Where did Jackie live?

Just a few months back there was a long thread on this with photos and film from an angle different from the typical... have to say, I was sure he was out but by the end of the thread I had to admit there was some room for doubt. And that is taking nothing away from Yogi.. I can totally see why even a guy that close to it could insist he was out and might be wrong. I can say that the ball arrived first and the mitt was in the right place.. so he should have been called out whether or not the toe got in there before actual contact with the mitt.
