This is a PLAYOFF Team as long as the Quarterback performs

We play our best for 12 Games, NO ONE, is stopping this freight train. We could have won at least 7 or 8 games, had we kept Gavin as the starter, especially when you consider the schedule is much less difficult, and the WR talent is significantly better than it was a year ago. But the head coach decided that we should have higher aspirations, so he brought in Athan, in consultation with Kirk Ciarrocca, to win 10-12 Games. That’s where my expectation lies.

I see three 50/50 games on the schedule.
  • USC
  • Wisconsin
  • Nebraska
We are going to DESTROY everyone else, as long as the quarterback plays well. That means:
  • A 58% Completion %
  • 20 Touchdowns
  • 7 ints
The 58% completion % will be attained if he completes 1.25 more completions per game.
Backing him up will be the deepest, most talented WR Corp in Rutgers history, with multiple kids capable of pulling down at least 50 catches.
  • Miller
  • Strong
  • Dremel
  • Brantley
Then we’ve got other kids who are going to play strong supporting roles:
  • Long
  • Duff
  • Johnson
  • Black
  • Braithwaite
  • Toure
  • Fletcher
  • Konopka
Lastly, 3 of 5 Offensive Line starters return. Last year:
  • They allowed 14 sacks
  • Paved the way for the big tens leading rusher
So everything is in place to facilitate Athan’s success. Now it’s time for him to make it happen.

Oregon Duck Mascot Crashes Nebraska Presser

I feel like Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park all of a sudden. We were so preoccupied with if we could invite Oregon to the B1G, that we didn't stop and think if we should invite Oregon to the B1G.

Scrimmage Today

When was the last time we’ve had the luxury of a two deep 90% or more in place on both sides of the ball.

I understand we compete everyday, but this year is a different feel…both the players and coaches know who the starters and 2 deep is.

These guys are getting ready for the season, not trying to win playing time (for the most part)

PS….
I know guys are competing their asses off for packages and special teams.

Rutgers Football: Olympic History on This Day July 23, 1952

The October 14, 1954 Targum reported President Eisenhower had declared Saturday “Olympic Day” and Rutgers responded to the fund raising effort for the 1956 Olympic team. The pair-orred shell used to win the 1952 Olympic gold medal in Helsinki would be displayed at the October 16 game against William & Mary. Senior Chuck Logg, son of the Rutgers crew coach, was teamed up with freshman Tom Price who only began rowing in January of 1952. That summer, they shocked the crew world with their qualifying win at the U.S. Trials in men’s coxless pairs. They finished last in the first qualifying round at the Olympics but made it to the finals through the repêchages. On July 23, 1952 they faced the same three boats from Switzerland, Britain and Belgium that had beaten them earlier. After falling behind by one and a half boat lengths to Belgium, Logg and Price turned up the steam and won the Olympic gold medal in an 8:20.7 run at Helsinki, Finland in their aptly named shell, “Cinderella.” The gold was a first in the event for the United States courtesy of “The Cinderella Kids” from Rutgers.

U.S. women's soccer gold is a triumph for Rutgers, too

The most successful program in Rutgers Athletics, women’s soccer, picked up another achievement to tout on Saturday.

And it’s a big one.

When the U.S. women’s soccer team defeated Brazil in the gold-medal game at the Paris Olympics, two Scarlet Knights became Olympic champions.

OT: So is the Prime hype over? Colorado football is a mess

Colorado's top recruit from last year (a 5* CB) is entering the portal, their 2024 recruiting class is ranked in the 80's, they had 25 players leave via the portal and Prime's kids are begging OLs to tranfer in.

It doesn't seem like HC Prime and their AD have a plan for sustainable success in Colorado. Sheesh.
