Sept 7 vs. Akron: Where to Park, Etc.

Hey, friends. I'm tentatively planning to come to the Sept. 7 game vs. Akron. It means I won't get to watch Michigan State at Maryland, but I can listen to it after your game.

Where do I park? I don't plan on buying a ticket in advance, or a parking pass, or any of that stuff. Hopefully I can just walk up to a ticket window and buy a ticket (it's Akron, should be possible, right?)

I haven't been to Rutgers Stadium since graduation day, 2015, or whatever year that was. I parked in a grass field near the stadium. I'll bet it's now either a tailgating spot or the site of one of your new, awesome buildings.

Rate the position groups

Just an interesting discussion point as we grind through summer waiting for some football. What are your ratings of each position group? Here are mine (not including special teams):

[tie] 1. Linebacker and Running Back - it was a tossup between LB and RB for #1, and there’s just no way to choose. Both groups have stars at the top of the depth chart (Monangai, Toure, Powell), and both groups have high quality depth (Brown and Benjamin at RB, Walker, Wright, Djabome, and JWC at LB).

3. Safety - three senior starters (Dixon, Loyal, Igbinosun) who have all excelled at times, and Dixon was one of the top players on the entire team last year. Plus there are young talented players right behind them in Sanders, Clawges, and White, plus a steady veteran in Lusardi.

4. Defensive End - two multi-year starters with star potential in Lewis and Bailey, plus a steady backup in Thompson. Need to see if Jordan Walker and Djabril Abdou Rahman can provide a pass rushing presence on third down.

5. Defensive Tackle - this is a very solid 4-man rotation with Hamilton, Ray, Angoy, and Rainey. Would be nice if Griffin and/or Hughes can provide some quality snaps as deep reserves.

6. Wide Receivers - Dremel, Strong, and Miller is a potential playmaking first line, and Black, Brantley, Toure, and Duff provide a solid rotation (with Black a possible breakout star).

7. Offensive Line - strong left side with returning starters Pierce, Felter, and Zilinskas, and hopefully solidified RT with portal addition of Shedrick Rhodes. There is a question with Asamoah at LG, and the depth (Needham, Sutton, Chin, White) is shaky.

8. Cornerback - solid top two in Longerbeam and Rogers, but the depth is unproven, with Mascoe, Salaam, Zilan Williams, and Levy vying for the nickel and dime packages.

9. Quarterback - likely an upgrade in the passing game with Kaliakmanis, but how much is the question. And the backups are green and inexperienced, so we are one hit away from being led by a QB who has only played in garbage time against low level competition.

10. Tight End - we have no TEs who have ever started a game. Fletcher has promise, but we don’t know what we’re getting until the lights go on. And the backups (Higgins, Konopka, Blake) are entirely unproven.
