OT: THE RETURN! Annual Atlantic Tropical Cyclone Season Prediction Contest!

Originally called "Beat Dr. Gray", after famed Colorado State meteorologist Dr. William Gray, the title is changed because Dr. Gray is, unfortunately, deceased.

But the rules are the same. Colorado State has predicted for this year a total of 17 Named Storms, 9 Hurricanes and 4 Major Hurricanes.

For the contest, I establish their prediction as the baseline. Named Storms = 1 point, Hurricanes = 3 points and Major Hurricanes = 5 points.

To this, I add a multiplier that establishes the CSU baseline at 100 points (rounded to 2 decimal places).

At the end of the season (Nov 1) the number of named storms, hurricanes and major hurricanes is run through the same formula, arriving at a score.

To win, your score must be 1) closest to the "actual score" and 2) closer to the actual score than CSU's score of 100.

So off we go, then. If you wish to "Beat CSU", reply with your prediction for number of named storms, number of hurricanes and number of major hurricanes. Your entry will be added to the tracking spreadsheet.

The winner will be recognized during tailgate prior to the Penn State game. Prize is TBD.

P.S. Please show some consideration to @RU848789 for the duration of this contest as we all know it bugs the shit out of him. :)

OT: South Amboy's Johnny O'Brien dead at 94

The 1950's Pirates' reserve infielder and occasional moundsman had quite a collegiate career on the hardwood as well, playing for Seattle University.
He became the first player in NCAA history to score 1,000 points in one season in 1953.More spectacularly,he scored 43 points in one game in a stunning upset of the Harlem Globetrotters in 1952.(Things regarding amateur-pro matches were not as strictly enforced as they are today.Hell,Seton Hall once played a game against something called the Asbury Park Lyceum)

O'Brien went on to become a Seattle councilman and sportscaster for his Alma Mater with Keith Jackson doing the play by play.

All in all,a life well lived.
