“We’re pleased to announce the newest inductees to the Rutgers Fan Hall of Fame”

Talk about recency bias.
Another disingenuous post from you. Classic.

There were 10 finalists from many different generations of Rutgers fans, from which the final 3 were determined by a fan vote.

If your concern is recency bias, tell your friends to log on to the computer. Maybe they'll stumble upon one of your monologues.

Because it’s a popularity contest based on folks lobbying others to vote a bunch for people they know. Really don’t understand the point of the whole thing, but it’s harmless I guess.
I’m glad I am not the only one that doesn’t understand the point. I can I understand inducting 1 person every few years or so that has a history of support but inducting 3-4 people every year that have little to no history doesn’t make much sense.

You expressed what I was thinking much better than I did.

Its a nice diversion for the under 40 crowd..woo hoo

People on this board are ridiculous. They complain about stadiums not being full and now Rutgers/Learfield/McDonalds have partnered on an initiative to recognize some of our best fans. I understand many older worthy folks feel left out (and this was discussed), but there is also something to be said about creating the next generation of Rutgers fans.

That's a great and worthy cause but then don't call it The Hall of Fame. That requires investment and aging over a good period of time.

People can’t figure out “your“ vs “you’re” and you want them to master the chronology rules for when using “hall of fame” to honor people for something is appropriate? 🙂

The Rutgers Fan Hall of Fame is not legit until it inducts the legendary RutgersAl.

NYCBanker, Spanky, MrsScrew, RaRa, Folks who actually travel to away games, etc...

ETA: The NYCBanker entry was a joke. FOCUS!
ETA2: Adding Nuts, who like MrsScrew is always setting up events for others.

I never saw the voting. Next time someone should post and pin the link. Would there be anyone here who wouldn't vote for beaced?

I tried to get the wife nominated last year but yall didn't vote her in. But of course beaced goes in first.

+1
The Fan HOF should have one and only one criteria:

Who are the people that have put up with this crap the longest and still around?

Honestly a post like this is insulting. Of the candidates that were nominated as finalists last year I was definitely worthy, and the voters came out. I thank them for it.

How many people last year attended:
- NCAA tournament against Clemson and Houston
- Field Hockey B1G championship
- Women's Soccer College Cup game
- Football Bowl game

This season I have been to all 10 football games so far and will be in attendance for the final 2. Going to Mens soccer tomorrow also. Was in Dayton for the First Four game too. Went to Long Island for Men's lacrosse.

I've been a Rutgers fan as long as I've been alive, granted it's not as long as many on this board but I will 110% put my Rutgers fan resume next to anyone on this board and I feel confident it stacks up better than 90% of people on this board if not more.

Geez. Give it a rest. You’re trying way too hard again and insulting other fans, yet again. Enjoy your little trophy. Now I know why you have such a red ass about this lame initiative.

For someone that thinks it's lame, you're doing an awful lot of complaining about it. Additionally, I did not start this thread, nor did I respond until it started turning into people whining about the credibility of the program. I have absolutely every right to defend myself and I will if it is warranted.

Someone in else in the thread pointed out that the award should go to someone that travels to away games etc, and I proved the point.

Some people on this board think that just because they're old and have been going to games for a long time they're a lock for this type of stuff.

Lastly, there is a separate Rutgers Athletics Hall of Fame that any one of you can nominate yourselves for if you feel like you've made a meaningful contribution to Rutgers athletics.

I don’t think anyone is putting down or questioning anyones “fandom”. I am sure all who have been chosen are true Rutgers Fans. They chose the wrong name to recognize the individuals. Hall of fame is reserved for elite level status over a lifetime of achievement. As I said earlier if it was called “fan of the day, week, year” no one would have a problem.

Well looks like a RU fan hall of fame is another thing that can be complain about on this board.
This is the trophy that's wanted handed out to those being inducted into the RU HOF
( if they are not picked)

Not complaining much about it- more about you insulting others here as you often do.
