Wide receiver Kenny Britt became the first Rutgers player ever drafted in the NFL’s first round when he was taken 30th overall by the Tennessee Titans on April 25, 2009. On April 22, 2010 tackle Anthony Davis was drafted 11th by the San Francisco 49ers and cornerback Devin McCourty was taken #27 by the New England Patriots. It was the first time two Rutgers players were taken in the NFL’s first round. Five were taken in the second round: Ray Rice (2008 Ravens, 55th pick), Brian Leonard (2007 Rams, 52nd pick), LJ Smith (2003 Eagles, 61st pick), Marco Battaglia (1996 Bengals, 39th pick), Bill Pickel (1983 Raiders, 54th pick) and Frank Burns (1949 Eagles, 19th pick) and in the AFL, Alex Kroll (1962 Titans (aka Jets), 13th pick).
