Rutgers went to the new Yankee Stadium to play Army on November 12, 2011 and won 27-12. They returned that season to play the second annual New Era Pinstripe Bowl on December 30, 2011 and defeated Iowa State 27-13.

Besides their own home fields and games held at Giants Stadium, it was the first time Rutgers returned to the same place for a contest since 1881 when Rutgers played Princeton twice at University Field in Princeton. The only other times they did that were in 1877 when Rutgers tied Stevens and lost to Columbia at the St. George’s Cricket Grounds in Hoboken where they also played three games in 1879, splitting two with Stevens and losing to Columbia.

I had my Company box for the Pinstripe bowl. Saw Chas Dodd throw a bomb pass to our wide receiver Brandon Coleman right in front of us . Was a classic moment and put away the game for Rutgers
