Yesterday I looked at Anthony Nelson and Shandon Brown.
2018 Anthony Nelson is a player from South Kent, NE, who is listed as a PG but I am unsure if I saw one pass out of him in his whole video. He is a player,though. Just not sure if he is a pg that most teams need. A great SG, perhaps.
Shandon Brown- 2018- Not exactly the size most fans want at 5 9, but he is fit, and ready to take a bump. He also passes exclusively. At the moment, there is not a huge amount of competition for him. I think he is a choice 1b, but I did like some of what I saw. Competitor, decent outside shot(low release though at times), takes a bump, plays good defense.He scraps, but I am not sure if he is the next level kid we need. It hurts to say that, as I do like his game,he does compete, and is a pretty decent point guard.
Cotton- I think he is a next level player for us. I like his wingspan, smooth shot. Again, the player we need.
Montez Mathis- Next level player. I like his wingspan, character. His recruiting was seen to be tipped our way at one point, but now it seems to have evened out.
Tough to get a true feel for these players with the media presented. A true pg is hard to find these days. When the players start scoring, they can't go back to being a selfless player. Lots of the hightlights are aau and that makes it tough.
Nonetheless, just looked at a couple of 2018 kids.
