2017 Football Season Ticket Renewals and New Sales Information

Ugh

The “Big Ten Battle in the Bronx” event is part of the season ticket package. Football season ticket holders will be able to purchase seats of their choice at Yankee Stadium online or over the phone with a Rutgers Account Executive. Seats range from $40-$65 and each ticket grants admission to both the wrestling match and football game

Guess I'm losing them with that paragraph. If the Big Ten Battle in the Bronx is part of the season ticket package, why does a season ticket holder have to purchase seats? It's either a part of (included in the season ticket holder price) or not (separate purchase required).

So that parking pass graph appears to be just for the Purchase Now Program:

For the season tickets, looks like the price listed is just for the season ticket per section: whatever you have to pay for the ticket at the Steinbrenner Memorial Whorehouse is going to be extra.

Yeah, I don't get that either. Maybe we get choice of seating as a season ticket holder before it's opened up to non-season ticket holders?

cheap bleacher seats in Yankee Stadium are actually better than the more expensive sections where you are about a mile away from the field....

Donations are pretty steep to get a parking pass.Ouch.
If I am reading this correctly, you can go in the lottery and get the parking lot that your Power Points earned without those minimum contributions.
Is that correct?

I still don't understand the Yankee Stadium ticket situation.

If my cost is $240 for 6 games at HPSS ($40 per game), what do I pay for the Yankee Stadium tickets? Do I have to buy the same number of tickets for that game as I have for my regular Rutgers home games?

Seems to be yes, at a cost of $40-$65 each

Everyone needs to launch another email and phone assault in reference to being forced to buy Yankee Stadium seats.

The basketball team is playing a "home game" at Madison Square Garden against Wisconsin, and the season ticket holders were NOT FORCED to buy tickets for that game - UNFAIR.

This should be the same situation - OPTIONAL

Bleacher Creature seats in Yankee Stadium are not good football viewing sections.
in fact very view in that Baseball Stadium are.

I sat in the bleachers for the Iowa State Pinstripe...yes its in the endzone but you are fairly close to the field, the seats are cheaper, and the atmosphere is actually better, this is where I will buy my tix, whether I go is another question

So, I just spoke with my ticket rep.

The game *IS* included in your season ticket package, but you get to chose how much those tickets will be ($40-65) based on where in the stadium you want to sit. So, if you have four season tickets (like I do), you need to purchase four Yankee Stadium tickets... but you at least get to control what pricing tier you want to buy them at. A seating chart is coming out next week outlining what areas of the stadium are available for the different dollar ranges - and you pick a range, and get seated by priority point order.

Lovely. [sick]

So, I need to either find someone who really wants to go to this crapfest so they can choose what seats/pricing they want ahead of time... or I'm going to buy the cheapest seats I can get and try to offload them.

Anyone want to venture a guess whether or not the Yankees Stadium forced seat purchase hurts season ticket sales? I say yes. Basketball wisely did not force the Wisconsin game at MSG upon season ticket buyers. A majority of football season ticket buyers want nothing to do with Yankees Stadium and its tailgateless venue. Could be the latest tipping point.

A poll was done in this and 80+% said they would NOT attend.

Its nothing against the players but a stand must be made.

So generous of them to let us choose o_O

Noone gets in RU's way as much as RU does. You could almost acknowlege them making a decision about how to handle NYC venues for their sporting events, but considering the way basketball handled it is opposite of football, they can't even be consistent with that. :chairshot:

2-10 will have hurt season ticket sales more than the yankee stadium game - and from what I hear - the Friday night game coupled with it makes it worse; we lose 2 home tailgates this year.

80% of this board. I'm sure the response would be a bit better amongst alumni under 40 in North Jersey and NYC.

Still sucks of course.

80% in newspaper poll

I don't get the purchase now parking. Doesn't seem like a "deal" to me.

Forcing your season ticket holders(the backbone of your fanbase) to buy a home game ticket at an away venue, while coming off a 2-10 season is a sure fire way to turnoff your most loyal fans. Did anybody take marketing 101, don't bite the hand that feeds you.

The only reason this is being forced on season ticket holders is because they're afraid of a poor turn out. If that's the case then this should have never been scheduled or all attempts should have been exhausted to get out of this boondoggle. This game poses no financial or athletic advantage for RU and I will continue to protest in a professional manner via e-mail and phone to ensure my voice is heard.
