It will be interesting to see how much lacrosse grows in the B1G going forward. All 5 ACC programs are ranked in the top 7, I would like to see the B1G in a similar position one day.

You might consider posting this on the LAX board

Given that this board gets a lot more eyes on a daily basis, I don't see a problem.

So if I am reading that right, 5 of the top 7 teams are in the ACC. Those 5 teams are also the only teams in the ACC. So the entire ACC Lax conference is in the top 7. Seems legit.

The always get the benefit of the doubt to start the season, and in some cases rightfully so. Even so, UNC hasn't done nearly anything in 20 years to live up to the hype, and Uva in my opinion, has started its decent.

Duke is status quo (can't really get much higher than where they are) and ND is coming up a little bit.

Really think the B1G is poised for massive things. MD and Hopkins will get it rolling, and the other programs are all coming up.

Yeah...happens every year.

Those teams can afford multiple losses per year, but that is OK because the schedule is so tough. It is the same thing that happens with the SEC in football, but on another level completely.

Last year, Loyola went 15-1, with the one loss being in the first game, on the road, in overtime, at Virginia. They beat Duke 14-7 (Duke ended up as the #1 seed in the tournament with 3 losses), but based on SOS, Loyola ended up the #3 seed and a much tougher matchup.

How good is that Denver coach!. He took a program from no where and they are now preseason number 1 in 5 years. Whereas Princeton, who used to be a top 20 regular with Tierney as coach, is falling fast.

Tierney is a great coach, maybe the best. But the program he took over was very, very well supported, along with having a few players in the program. He took it to the stratosphere, but he wasn't starting from scratch at all.

Listening to the lacrosse show on XM college, last year I think it was, said that Denver is the closest good program west of the Mississippi River so all the west coast kids go there as the sport has taken off out West compared to it having been going for a long period on the East coast. Lots of players starting to appear out West now with the increased popularity nation wide of the sport.

That is sort of true, Husker. West coast kids are all over the Denver roster (as are Canadiens and east coast kids), but they are also seen on many teams in the east now. From what I can tell, Denver may have a lot of western kids, but the best ones are still heading back east.

Look out for Junior Seau's son from San Diego. Kid is a beast and is now at Duke. Rutgers has a kid from LA who played a lot as a freshman and should have an increased role. He was a 2x All American at the high school level. We also have been recruiting Utah and Arizona, and have some kids I have heard good things about.

And don't forget he had that "Princeton way" thing going for him too.
