Per Rothstein: Fordham and Duquense (usually perennial doormats) have the best records in the (OOC Schedule) Conference at 9-4. This is a 1 bid league. Conference has fallen on tough times.

St. Louis is pretty good. They’ve beaten Butler and won at Seton Hall this year and they are also 9-4.

First of all, here is the quote so people can differentiate between what Rothstein actually wrote and @BigEastPhil hot take:

Rothstein conveniently didn't mention that VCU and Saint Louis have the same 9-4 record as Fordham and Duquense.
Saint Louis is pretty good. They've lost to FSU, Houston and Pitt. Teams I wouldn't expect an A-10 team to beat this season BUT they almost took down Pitt and Houston. Their loss to SIU was a bit surprising tho. This is supposed to be a down year for VCU but so far I think someone forgot to tell the Rams that.

Dayton's schedule is BRUTAL. They were in the Battle 4 Atlantis and played & lost to Virginia, Oklahoma and Mississippi State. All top 4 teams in their respective conferences. They also lost at Aurburn, another top 4 team in its conference. They had a chance to beat Tulsa (neutral site) but the game got away from them in the second half.

Russ,
How far do you see the Gators going this season? How is recruiting going for the upcoming years? Btw, Nephew loves UF.

Dayton’s program is rock solid. Forever, they draw 13000 at home. Their choice of coaches is usually stellar. And they fill their roster with ballers (and as a Rutgers fan I often wonder how they do it). Even when their roster is thin, and when their team suffers injuries, they find ways to compete. It’s a shame they are still in the A-10. They belong in the Big East. I am guessing that Xavier would block the Flyers admission to the Big East at all costs.

They are getting better defensively but I will be impressed if they win more than 11 conference games this season. Too early to say how far they'll go but for now I'd say two NCAA Tournament wins.

They have a very good 2019 class with two 5-stars and one 4-star recruit. A scholarship just opened up but I think they may go the grad transfer route and try to bring in an experienced big man. Tell your nephew that you're either a Gator or you're Gator Bait lol.

Local kid Scottie Lewis being one of them for 2019

Outstanding Defensive player who's offensive game needs a little work .
