Alex Barbir-PSU and Louisville Offers

Crazy stuff, hopefully Alex does what is right for Alex.
Want him for the scarlet knights, but if we recruit top notch players, we should expect for them to get other offers.
People are insane on twitter.
Would hate to see the stuff that would come out on me if I was ever recruited and switched schools.

Not a big fan of twitter. Unfortunate some of the fans are behaving the way they are in such a visible way. Nothing surprising though.

Hmm now he might want to visit Penn State......

One thing I think he needs if he comes to Rutgers, is to be part of a local church community immediately. He's extremely religious and he's going to need to know the local folks like that.

Can Pollack still contact these guys now that he's enrolled? Might be helpful.

at least 2 of those RU Twitter posters are posters on this board as well....and over on the RT no less.

Objectively, why would penn state be a better choice for a kicker? I'll let you try to say why.

107k fans is not a valid reason.

Higher ranked school. Higher ranked Business, Engineering Schools etc. Plus some people prefer a classic college town like PSU rather than New Brunswick. Plus PSU produced Robbie Gould!! The greatest kicker in NFL history.

Holy hell that RU fan is no fan, he makes us all look like morons.... Tweeting at recruits, never not creepy
Problem is you don't know if a person on twitter is a real fan or a troll. I don't like twitter.

if this is true I am absolutely sick of this stuff. So sick of sports in general these days and all I got is RU football to invest in. Really tired of these games being played. Too old school for this BS..

...if I were this kid, I'd wonder if Franklin and PSU had been locked in an attic for the last year since apparently they need me so much they're offering me 2 weeks before signing day...

That's one way to look at it. You could also look at it as PSU has had a kicker committed since before Babir committed to Rutgers. Nordin is apparently ready to move on from PSU and vice versa. As a result Babir gets an offer. Being the 2nd choice to the No.1 PK prospect in the country isn't exactly something to feel too slighted by. In most cases once you have a PK you're not extending offers to additional PK's as typically you have one on scholarship. Would it have been better for PSU to offer 2 months ago with the dreaded "non-committable" offer?

...I dunno if I'd want to be someone's consolation prize. I'd also wonder why the "#1 kicking prospect in the country" who had been committed to such a 'name program' for months all of a sudden wants to leave 2 weeks before signing day...

He grew up a Michigan fan. can't blame him for going to his childhood favorite school. I think the only thing holding him back right now is that Michigan wants to greyshirt him.
