to the existing coaches. I heard he met with them after the press conference, does anyone have any ideas on who if any were retained or is he going to give them 30 days or what?

He told them they all looked like they had closing speed, so he was gonna time them to see how fast they could get their stuff out of the Hale Center.

This thread just finally proves nobody on this board is connected or has a big time insider! All it shows is a bunch of uninformed drones that feel the constant need to post on everything even when they don't know sh*t! Enjoy the off season.

dude, chillax. it's a freeboard. it's not like this is a premium board or anything. :)

His meeting with Rossi must have been comical.

Hahahaha! Yeah. Wish I was a fly on the wall for that one. Oh wait I was! Here's a replay:

Rossi walks in.

"Hi Coach!"

Coach Ash fights back laughter as best he can but succumbs to the urge and bursts out laughing. He can't stop. His eyes begin to water as he continues to laugh out loud, feverishly... uncontrollably. He won't stop. It's a roaring ongoing belly-bursting laugh. Rossi doesn't know what to do. He looks panicked. White in the face. 100% embarrassed. Finally he speaks.

"Do you want me to just leave?"

Coach Ash can't even get the words out. He just points to the door and shakes his head in agreement. Still laughing uncontrollably.

Rossi exits. Grabs his fanny pack and his brown bagged lunch and heads home.

on a serious note.... wasn't rossi a good ST coach for us? I feel like having some continuity there would be good as we're kick blocking machines. I know its probably not going to happen since i doubt coaches take demotions like that.

Yes Rossi was a very good ST coach for us. Sometimes I think he gets a bad rap for the lack of aggressiveness from this defense when that philosophy flows from the head coach. We saw it on both sides of the ball all year, playing for field goals, taking a knee at the end of the first half against the Terps, the list goes on and on, we all suffered through it. I think with the aggressive direction that Coach Ash will lead the team in, Rossi would be a valuable member of the staff.

I think Coach Ash said he wanted to find out more about them - likely to see if they were willing to be on board with what plans he has and are willing to adapt to them..... If not, they would certainly be gone....

Not sure if he has a list of who he might want (if they are available), but I'm assuming he already does. Seems very well prepared for this...

My interpretation from his comments in his presser is that unless one of those guys blows him away, the entire staff is gone and that's the way it should be. I can see him maybe keeping one coach but that's about it.

To your point, he did call them the "coaches that were on staff" and that if he felt it was a good fit "they will have an opportunity to potentially join the staff".

You know, Rossi is a pro. He was overmatched as a DC here under these circumstances, but in a different scenario he will be very successful.

That said, he will not be returning..
