Are we ranked in the next AP poll?

Maybe... MAYBE the votes elsewhere are diffuse enough (like Borges voting for Duquesne is irrelevant, they're not making it, and if he's not going to vote for Rutgers then I'd rather him vote for Duquesne than Penn State or Colorado) but I just think too many will leave us off.
name recognition carries weight outside of the region.

A voter from TX or Bama may see Rutgers and Michigan as contenders but vote Michigan. These voters are not watching games and don't look through who everyone played.

yes we are 5-2 in conference but have not played a lot of conference teams we are being compared to.

the big issue we may have is
- PSU was ranekd when we beat them but fell out
- Wisconsin is not ranked now
- SHU is a quality win but at home
- we played Mi St close but lost

not sure how the Q1 Q2 stuff works but it seems we beat a bunch of the good teams while others have beaten top 15 teams
Those aren’t issues at all. The voters don’t look that hard. The big issue is they barely look at this stuff. One voter submitted his ballot before our game against Minnesota. That’s ridiculous

Half agree. It was two SEC writers that ranked us highest last week.

I agree with this. I don’t think we make it

I thought we would make it for sure but now I don't. Hope us doubters are wrong.

Those are issues for NET rankings. AP voting is subjective from the media.

dont think we will fall short ...but Totally agree with the fact that our home town votes could actually pump us a couple of spots

Carino moves the hall up a couple of extra spots more than they deserve (they probably should be 12 and carino has 9)...we don’t get the benefit of the doubt either ...and we smacked the hall silly in December

I think he is being fair with us while pumping up SHU

difference is that SHU has performed in the NCAA tourney in recent years whil RU has underperformed in Hoops. It is a bias many writers have where you go with the entity that has done well in past years vs 1 that they are afraid to over promote.

interesting to note that USC despite leading the Pac 12 and at 15-3 is only getting 4 votes...LSU leads the SEC and also found themselves outside at 27. Colorado split games and still hung on. I think if you can get in the top 25 its harder to exit unless you are losing alot.
