this is absolutely the worst I have EVER seen our program. And playing as poorly as we did to a vastly overrated pedo state doesn't help the cause.

Been saying that since Michigan. No one who loses 78-0 can be a good coach.
I've been an Ash supporter and I do believe the cupboard is bare but I'm deeply concerned over the lack of progress. Ash is not going to get top recruits so he has to "coach up". He has not shown any propensity to do that.
Ash looks like a kid who just had a bully take his lunch money and is about to piss his pants.
He may be like Eddie.. two and gone. No improvement with what he has and OC should have been fired weeks ago.
The idea of hiring an unproven coach who in turn hires a bunch of unproven assistants doesn't seem to be working out that well.
Can't use the lack of talent excuse forever.
At least show something.

is this staff getting paid, or are they volunteers? if they are getting paid then they are robbing us.
He really does look lost. Running a defense even at a football factory like OSU is much easier than rebuilding the impossible RU Scarlet Knights. For once we needed a HC and Assistants with experience. Like it or not, right at this very moment Coach Flood and Julie would be much more promising.
Honestly what Rutgers needs is a coach who can create some excitement and some wins for the program even if it's with smoke and mirrors and won't last. we need to get a lot of good local recruits interested and this line about "building a foundation" and working towards the future won't do it.

I too am very disappointed. I never would have expected 58-0, 78-0, 49-0 and 39-0. That is hard to believe. We had most of our offensive line back plus our QB and 2 outstanding running backs in Martin and Hicks. Martin doesn't hardly get a chance this season and Hicks doesn't get straight ahead runs like last year. Almost every carry he gets now comes from a run from the outside to a handoff from the QB and almost every time he gets tackled for a loss. We have absolutely no pass rush. Our team looks totally lost and it is hard to imagine as we did have some talent left from last year. We seem to just get rolled over every week. I really thought Chris Ash would show us something but so far I just don't see a team nearly as good as last year. I'm willing to give him next year too but we must see some real progress. We are like a punching bag to every team for our last 8 games. We are like the laughing stock of college football. We look lost in every phase of the game.

Everyone needs to chill out, ya'll knew this year wasn't gonna be the answer. The lack of progress is definitely concerning but give the guy a little time to develop his own players. If next year is a repeat then we have a problem...
You are 100% correct. Some of the geniuses on this site put Golden down about being a terrible HC. I felt that Golden was by far a better head coach than Ash a CO-DC. The same posters called me out and said I was a troll. In retrospect who are the real Trolls? Those that want to give the current HC & Assistants a 5 year
plan to run this program into the ground or those of us who knew better?

I care. I would be very embarrassed if I allowed some punk to push my buttons the way the OP did to many in this thread. We can't control how the team is performing. But we sure as hell ought to be able to control our emotions enough to realize when we are being played with like angry puppets.

Its just such a crap year that really there are no rules anymore. Our own fans are trolls, our players are trolls and if you defend the program - your blind. Losing really brings out the worst in people - as it should.

I wouldn't dismiss a candidate just because he had one less than successful stop along the way. Would Bill Belichick be NE HC if Bob Kraft thought that way?
