Ash got schooled

Ash got schooled how? Man if you're gonna say something look at the enitre scope of things. If anything if several plays were executed correctly, ie the qb riding the running back and keeping it in stead of handing off almost every time, we win this game. Or the fact that he had an open man directly in front of him in the red zone we don't lose this game.

Burned all his timeouts . You don't do that by early in the 4th quarter . We could have been up 3-0 at half instead of down 7-0

The first time out was used becusse someone was lined up incorrectly and would have resulted in a penalty and the second timeout was use becusse there were 12 people on the field. Please just stfu

I guess you don't watch much football . Burning all your time outs by early in the 4th quarter is terrible coaching anyway you slice it.

Do you honestly think that lost the game?

Agree it was wasteful, disagree it lost the game. Iowa running clock at will for 1st downs while up a TD combined with our flopping trout offense = not getting the big comeback with an extra late TO or two.

Terrible day for our rookie head coach. Questionable decisions and play calls . Burned all his timeouts by early in the 4th quarter. Hopefully he learns from this. Kinda expected with a first timer . Effort was there today
Players not lining up right may have had something to do with it.

Disagree, Plum Street. You're assuming that Coach had no clue of the jeopardy he was putting the team in. Every 6th grader watching the game understands that. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do or the last drive doesn't even matter. I totally fault him for leaving Laviano in.

One timeout was burned because of 12 defenders when a player ran out onto the field. The other two were burned due to being lined up in wrong formations on offense. One of them was burned prior to our only touchdown. Not really sure what to Ash could've done differently there A 17 year head coach beat us by a touchdown in the last five minutes of the game. Ash did not get "schooled" Bottom line

He's a terrible HC that won't win one Big Ten game this year. Mark it down. This was a team that lost to a 1-aa team @home and some fools act like it's a moral victory because we didn't get blown out. Pathetic.

Mark it down, moose won a game in his girls softball league last night. He knows.

Did I mention Moose also still has a throbber for AL fkn Golden? Clearly, he knows what he's talking about.

Are you serious?

Entirely possible we won't win a game in the B1G this year, but that doesn't mean he's a bad HC. His effect is clearly seen on the D already. If he can hold this recruiting class together and continue to recruit in the future, he might prove to be a successful HC.

His choice in OC however...I'm not a fan of.

Regarding timeouts, in the 2nd half, imo, it is worth taking a 5 yard penalty instead of using a timeout (unless in a 3rd and short situation). Don't remember each situation but good teams don't burn timeouts. It was like watching Flood all over again. Overall, a great effort and hopefully they can build on that.

Did I say that? Still doesn't explain how he got burned, but the entire board already knows you have issues.

No issues . And as I wrote in my original post it's a first time head coach and this type of thing is expected. There was a lot to like today, save for the result . Growing pains my friend

Reasonable response without the name calling like others. I hope you're right about the future but I'm not all that bullish on Ash

We lost because their players are better and they are deeper. I can't complain with 14-7. Disappointed? Yes. But you'd find something to complain about if we won a national championship.

To be fair, one of those 2nd half timeouts resulted in the TD that tied the game. That was a critical possession at that juncture in the game, so I thought that was a good decision to call timeout to setup that play.

Sorry, but you do not know of what you speak. Study up on NDS before dismissing them. Anybody that judges a rookie head coach this early in his career is just another Mr. Dingle, of Twilight Zone fame, shooting off his mouth and boring people.

Are you serious with this post?

North Dakota State is a known giant killer and has one 5 FCS Championships. They are an excellent FCS program and could probably beat many mid major programs.

Iowa came into this game with a chip on their shoulder. They are not a world-beater, but this was the same school that played for the B1G Championship last season. We hung tight against a solid BIG opponent.

It sure as hell beats watching a Flood-led RU get curb stomped by 35+ points against every B1G opponent with a pulse.

I'll trust the opinion of actual football people, as opposed to the army of Armchair Francesas. Today shows upside for the future, as talent level will increase.

What an incredibly stupid post. In the amount of time it took you to write this, you could have googled NDSU and realized that not only have they won the past 5 DI-AA titles, they are 5-0 against FBS teams the past 5 years.
