Attention Rutgers Athletic Department: BRING BACK THE HORSE VIDEO

I wouldn't mind seeing a little more on NJ in an updated video...

- Horse at Liberty State Park with Lady Liberty and the NYC skyline in the background
- Horse at the Shore somewhere
- Horse at some other NJ landmarks as he makes his way to Rutgers and his way to the Stadium

like Sparky the ASU mascot did at the Insight Bowl.

I like that .... But I'd also have the horse travel through NJ history as he passes landmarks, watching as Washington crosses the Delaware, there at the first football game, riding past a road lit by Edison's electric lights, etc.

2 things I want to see:

- the horse makes it way across the ENTIRE length of the field, getting fans throughout the stadium revved up, then come back towards the student section to do the smae

- the horse somehow take a lap around the stadium following TD's ala Traveler.
This would be even cooler:

UVA started this horse video thing in the 90' s and it continues to be a highlight of every pregame - even tho they now suck like us.

the horse video WILL be back in the fall.

I had a meeting with Sarah and Matthew Colagiovanni, (senior associate athletic director – events and operations) back in November. I was assured that they heard everyone's complaints about wanting the video back and it will be back. It will likely include updates to show all of the new facilities and areas around campus.

the people have spoken and Rutgers has listened.

Not for nothing, but if they heard everyone's complaints, why didn't they bring the video back in early October?

@Upstream I cannot answer that question.

If I had to guess I would say that Hobbs and Ash agreed to get rid of everything associated with the prior administration/coaches and thought they would do it their way. Sarah said they took a lot of flack from a lot of people for no video and it would be back.

I thought my idea was pretty good but ^^^THIS^^^ one is even better.

And for night games the horse is arriving at the stadium at day time, but enters at night time

reading this entire thread now...

Bill's post made me laugh out loud...good one Bill!
He does have point, no?

There should or should have been a day/night version IMO.

I can see this.

A mistake obviously, but I can this being the case.

The Knight and horse on a rowboat crossing an iced-over Delaware would be interesting. Travelling an electric light-lit road, meh, not so much (but that's just me).

4 pages for a horse video..?

Apparently I'm completely out of touch.

the horse video is beloved by Rutgers fans and visitors alike. watching the video and then seeing the horse run out onto the field was great. and will be again.

Okay its probably pretty costly to do alot of different site shoots...the horse isnt a prop where you can just pick up and put down. What probably needs to be improved is the video quality, directing, camera angles and edits. The marketing dept only has so much money in its budget

At the bare minimum there should at least be a night game version.

And could you imagine if they did it (even if it was just one time) at the RAC for a Basketball game or Wrestling match (or even LAX). Wouldn't even have to run on the court...just be there and stroll in..."yeah, I'm here too bitches! Lets get it on!"

I think the crowd would go nuts. LOL

Maybe a short portion with jockeys wearing a Rutgers jersey at Freehold,Monmouth, and The Meadowlands and the New Jersey Horse Park. Probably a long shot, but Springsteen's daughter is apparently a big deal in the horse jumping world.

The music needs to be the same as before this past season. As soon as that music began everyone looked to the jumbotron and was ready for the entry of the knight on the horse. It was all just very classy. The horribly truncated version this past season was often over before I even realized it had started.

Glad to hear the real video will be back. Thanks, Mrs. Screw.

Tour NJ in the video - get in the middle of a horse race within a knight in the lead - trot the boardwalks. Do some jumps at a horse park.
Doesn't have to be the same horse in all the shots, but get the knight in there. Get a knight on a horse in Times Square. Have a knight hook up some ropes to the Princeton canon. Have a knight on a horse leave an R magnet on Beaver stadium, then do the ru tour with a stop at a grease truck.

lol they arent making a movie, they are making a one minute video, you arent getting all those scenes in and they arent spending a whole bunch of money. I believe the horse spends time in Florida during part of the year and isnt just sitting around to travel the state. A few spots on campus with maybe one or two spots in NJ is fine but I think we are jumping the shark now
