B1G 10 Basketball. - not looking good to date

There seems to be alot of pushback for some reason GRFig is absolutely correct

Yes its early but it matters. Hopefully the Big 10 starts playing better
.

NWstern and Nebby losses were brutal. Performance in quality non conference is off to a bad start. It can change in a week but you don't want the conference to dig a hole thats too deep. Once non conference season is over thats it...conference play really will not change non conference sos much at all. .

The Gavitt and ACC games are huge

GRF is spot on with his analysis. The worse the Big 10 looks against other conferences, it drags down the rest of the big 10 conference. When everything is said and done, the committee will assess conferences and if the big 10 is down it’s bids are reduced comparing peer schools from other conferences. All you doubters should remember 2 years ago when the conference was down and only 4 big 10 teams got in and a 20 plus win team in Nebraska did not make it.

Nebraska didn't make it because they lost some in-conference games they couldn't afford to blow, but somehow did.

So if we were 2-2, would you be as worried? Yes the Gavitt games and ACC challenge matter, but are you really this worried about one more loss less than a week into the season? Makes as much sense as someone declaring one of our guys terrible based on his first ten minutes of game one last week. RELAX.

Why does anyone want to RELAX. Maybe I am a nerd, but it is cool to have a vested interest in other schools. In past years it was more conceptual. Maybe (I have my doubts) there is relevance this year.

Can you imagine in early March being on the bubble and rooting hard for the Missouri Valley regular season winner to win in a conference game.

Because it is too early to panic! It's like going for it on 4th and 7 on your own 25 in the 1st quarter because you are losing 3-0.

If Iowa loses tonight, that would get me concerned. Creighton-Michigan tomorrow is a toss up, it matters. Minnesota vs. Butler is house money for the B1G, we are supposed to lose. Purdue vs. Marquette is important too.

The games that hurt is the Nebraska and northwestern losing to cupcakes ...far more damage done there than losing to power five teams

Nebraska didn't ma

Nebraska was 22-11 overall and 13-5 on conference play. And 4th in the conference. And did not sniff the dance. Were seeded 4th in NIT thus not even close to bubble. Conference down = fewer bids.

The simplest way to do this is have all the people put an actual amount of dollars that matters to them, on the table and back up their beliefs.

Let's call it a donation to the RU Court Club for all the believers that the B1G is only getting 4 NCAA bids

Everyone here is uber confident they're watching games, players and is 100% sure every other league is better. Name the dollar amount NCAA per team and let's see who says their in or not.....Talk without belief, is just talk, at the end of the day.

Ummmm, DePaul up 16-2 on Iowa. Super early, but these losses are mounting. And this would sting.

I don't think 4 but I think it's looking like a max of 6 right now.

I wasn't disagreeing with you. Nebraska had tow WTF games in one season. The lost to Illinois (tied for last with us that year) was crushing and so was the St. John's game. Can't have drop two games to below .500 teams and expect to survive it.

Awful start for the Hawkeyes. Not watching right now, but DePaul started out really hot from 3. Right now they are 6 of 9 from deep. I don't know if they were open looks or not.

thats not why,...they were 13-5....the reason was they beat NO ONE, their resume was crap and their non conference sos poor

Nebby was 0-9 vs Net 1 schools, 17 of their 22 wins were from net 3 and 4 groupings...their sos non conference was a woeful 264

Iowa getting spanked!! Real down year in the big ten this year, GOTTA get to the top half this year

Exactly. The conference was bad in non-conference play thus none of those 13 wins were good wins. Don't see how this is hard for folks to grasp.

Iowa looks horrific vs DePaul In the first half at home. I haven’t seen a team much slower and in true Iowa form, they play no defense and are soft as hell.....and yes, I’ll say it, not that it matters but it’s hard not to notice that it’s probably the least diverse group in D1. Lots of doughy white shooters though. They all
Look alike..lol

DePaul guys making threes in one on one situations, not even moving ball much, just easily creating space vs lead footed defenders who are two steps away , no chance for hand in face

Wow. I thought Iowa was going to take a step back based on the guys they lost but this is... wow. We need to pass them this year.

All preseason the Iowa fans talked a good game about how improved their defense was going to be, but again they overvalued themselves. I've been trying to tell people that teams like Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Indiana are not as good as last year's teams. Still people wanted to believe nothing has changed, but it has and Rutgers can kick in the door.

Not for nothing and I know it hurts our SOS but man do I love the idea of all the many (not saying most, but many) prejudiced Iowans totally losing their mind and having their night ruined watching this school from Chicago city taking it to their beloved Hawkeyes in corn country

As I said preseason, B1G is weak this year. We should finish 5th-7th. Most likely 7th imo

and RU almost lost to a bad Bryant team at home......self awareness please

sure if they beat Illinois they would be 14-4 and have a better shot but this is the point ive been making for 2 years...you cannot just rely on the Big 10 being top 3 every year...if its down then RU could finish 10-10 in league and still be a longshot bubble because of its weak OOC schedule

Dumb post
You being a Penn State fan I’m not surprised you don’t like it either. But you didn’t see the absolute hate from their fans on the boards and on twitter etc last year when we were beating up on them ... some of the comments just sickening in 2019 and sorry but I have to defend our proud Rutgers men
