It comes down to this. Entering today, Indiana and Purdue were tied for 8th place. Iowa beat up on Indiana to drop them to 9-7. Right now Michigan State is leading Purdue at the half. Indiana holds the tie breaker over Purdue having beaten them twice in the ruler season. So unless Purdue comes back to win against a MSU, we will face Purdue at noon on Thursday.

This assumes that Penn St loses to Ohio St tonight or we beat Northwestern tomorrow. I’m not sure who has the tie breaker between us and PSU

RU won the first game at home early in the season, and then about two weeks later lost to them at Purdue. RU only scored a total of 33 points that game. Purdue has gotten better as the season gone on, they are a young team. I think I rather of had us play IU.

Purdue blew out MSU. This league is hard to figure. I think we have a good shot against Purdue. We split with them and they aren’t the greatest offensive team in the league. If we can shoot well and score our defense may be strong enough to beat them.

Actually I meant to say that MSU blew out Purdue. Go figure.

"If we can shoot well"

Rutgers Basketball Program's Million Dollar Question.

Yup. I keep saying it, with a few exceptions there isn't a lot of separation between teams. Just before things went relatively sour I said I hoped we would join the Ohio State / Maryland slightly above group, but unfortunately it didn't happen. Currently, Illinois and Wisconsin are separated on the bottom, I suppose.

Right now Indiana is the 8th seed, so if RU wins today, it looks like they will play UI and not Purdue.

If you are looking at the ESPN standings both teams finished at 9-7. But Indiana beat Purdue twice and head to head is the first tie breaker. That would make IU 7th and Purdue 8th. I still believe we face Purdue Thursday.

Would prefer to play Purdue hoping that there will be a return to the revenge tour.
