BACATOLOGY: NCAA ANALYSIS 3/7......NEW UPDATE 3/12 1PM PAGE 37

Having trouble seperating Michigan/ Indiana/ Rutgers

2 go to Dayton..one is an 11. Michigan has the best metrics but most losses 6-12 vs field. Rutgers has best wins 8-6 but worst metrics. Indiana is consistent in both but yet not as dynamic as the other 2. Very tough to call

Along my last in spot i am having trouble seperating Wyoming, Notre Dame, and Xavier. Wyoming is just 3-5 vs field picked up one when Fullerton won last night yet 11 q1 wins are they legit. Notre Dame has a big win vs Kentucky but just 2-7 vs field and 4-9 in q1/2. Xavier is 5-9 vs field yet its overall an unspectacular resume at 18-13 tgat we see ledt out all the time. None of their 5 q1 wins are high end

Really tough call

It’s damn close . I think Wyoming is just lower than those two .

Their true colors will show? I would decline an invite, if they didn't decline, then just give a ton of minutes to Reiber, Mag, Palmquist, Hyatt, Agee, Miller and Jones (if healthy).

There is no badge of honor for having to play in a meaningless tournament

it’s not meaningless though.

I think they end up in an 8-9 game…if they get past it, they’re not the type of team a 1 would want to see as they show it down and shoot really well from 3, which can lead to higher variance outcomes. Then again, this week has been high variance for them as Clemson had them on the ropes.
Update on my W/L ranking

What is the meaning then to a senior laden power conference school that just barely misses the NCAA tournament?

You are attributing your meaning and think that others should feel the same way

Maybe to the 7th team in the Mountain West it may mean a lot

While I don't like it, I think the only way we get in is Dayton. The early season disasters and losing to Minnesota and Northwester probably sealed our fate.

Are you guys out of your mind? What if we don't make the tournament the next three seasons? In that case the NIT would be the career highlight for Jalen Miller. You don't take that away from him or any of the other players.

I can't possibly fathom thinking Rutgers is too good for the NIT.

so your prior post was an exaggeration. Lots of that on this board.

NIT finals >>>>>>>>>>> losing a play in game
Respectfully, what is a better argument from a recruiting standpoint?
We made the final four of the NIT or We made the NCAA's for three years in a row.
Just my opinion but I think recruits want to hear tourney.

if we win the play-in sure…no argument.

I don’t believe making a playin game in Dayton and losing is making the ncaa tournament. That’s why it’s called a “play in” game…to play into the torunsment.

playing in MSG in any tournament is better than losing a game in Dayton. It’s not even a question. Imo

I disagree. The NCAA considers the play in games as actual tourney games. They pay the same as any other game.
Also I say this without doing the research, but I would assume the play in game on a Tues/Wed night will draw much higher rating than the NIT final 4 games.
So yes, I would rather make the tourney and lose in the playin game than make the NIT final 4.

I would take losing 10 straight times in the First Four games to winning 10 NIT championships and I think the players and 99% of the fans would agree

NIT finals >>>>>>>>>>> losing a play in game
This is one of the worst takes I've ever seen. I'll barely watch the NIT after 2 straight NCAA years (as opposed to the Douby team where it was our first NIT in awhile), whereas I'd be glued to the TV for Dayton and would be there if I could - flying back from FL Tuesday late afternoon...

I don't usually watch the selection show

Do they announce the 4 play in teams all together or jsut as they get to that game in each region?
you know that they will save the Dayton picks for last

Just to keep the interest going......

Not me.
