Pike and Hobbs were both slow to adapt NIL, and that's a fact.
Football has challenges with NIL as well, but not this level of it. Schiano jumped on it right away. Pike did NOT. Hobbs did NOT. If our football coach wasn't Greg, football would be having the same issue following our AD's lead.
The head coaching job description has changed in college athletics. This is why many HCs are leaving the college game, most recently Miami's HC. He even specifically called that out in his press conference.

I’m really heading in that direction, and I like him! The non ability to surround these 2 with real talent is really bothersome and sad. The coaches are too much like friends and not like coaches. Perhaps a spring cleaning is in order.
